I have out grown my handle and am going to change it. For those that have changed handles before what are the repercussions, if any?

No repercussions. I included an AKA so people who knew the old one could make the transition mentally. Haven't outgrown the old one, but new one lets people know my real name and where I reside. Helps when on group rides.

I changed mine and observed a few comments about such, but nothing to be concerned about...

Handles are best when they are given to you.  Perhaps the guys who ride with you most already have a new handle for you.

Agreed, but "Punk", "Hey Slow Down!", and "Man That's A Nice Bike" don't make very good handles.   2funny

While you may feel like you've outgrown your roadname and you may want a new one, RainMaker is right.  They are best when they happen on their own.

I mean, who in their right mind would actively choose "Disco"?   2funny

As with "JoshCornKid". A nickname my old (non-riding) buddies gave me. Being all the way down here in Southern Colorado I don't have regular riding friends, and don't think the Colorado group knows me well enough to tag me. Heck maybe they do? I think I will ask.  cooldude

One of the biggest issues with people changing a username is the ones that tend to select dumbass names and then choose to change them again soon thereafter, and again and again.

It's a name by which people have gotten to know you.  It's not on your driver's license or birth certificate and is likely not that important.

I think of a rotating reflector ball every time I see one of Disco's posts.  Okay.  Maybe it is that important.   Lips Sealed

I'm thinking the move from Joshcornkid to DarkSider is a step in the right direction coolsmiley . Having a custom license plate "DRKCYD" and being an advocate of darksiding I think it's a good new handle, but I don't want to get into the habit of changing handles.

Josh , tell me it isn't so. After you explained how you got the name. I will always remember  , what was the subject???????????????????????????????????   Just kidding. Some of the handles make me wonder where and why. As far as disco goes,  think the name is O K.

I know this is an old thread but, then again, so am I. What does a person do with a handle like "Valkjerk"? Back when I was a little more technically challenged, my son set me up on this forum and when it came time to set the handle he looked at me with this stern grimace on his face and said "yea pop, one thing about you is you're definitely a Valkyrie jerk" because his interest at that time was sport bikes and so here I am, a jerk for life. Sucks to be me. LOL
