Ultimate says they attach quick and easy, if they attach that quick and easy, how sturdy are they and safe?

If anyone can give their thoughts that would be great and a picture of theirs on the bike would be great too.

They look pretty sturdy to me. I was looking at a set this past weekend on Kep's bike. They attatch to the back of the sissy bar. Im sure they are not strong enough to put all your weight on but just to rest your arms they look great.

Up...

Down...

I generally run solo... I can put Carolyn's stuff on in 15 minutes... the armrests are
easy on easy off and very sturdy... and she likes them...

Jeff from Florida has a picture of him and his wife on their Red and White
that someone took, she's using the armrests, and they're clearly having
a blast... maybe he will post that picture...

Works for us. You can leave the hinge on the sissy bar and pull the hinge pin to remove the armrests if need be in seconds. please excuse the small piece of electrical tape barely visible hanging from the back of armrest bar/

Had to find the disk, the photos on the computer were lost a while ago.  She likes the arm rests a lot

After a couple rounds of "necessary" new parts buying, we now have the Ultimate armrests as in the Dragon picture those are Big Bike Parts armrests.

The hinge is sturdy because it's a piano type hinge..my wife loves the armrest , has since the day I put it on.Changed her whole riding experience . My oldest daughter actually fell asleep resting her arms on them !

I purchased a second hand set off eBay, and I'm uncertain that I got all the parts.  What I got only appeared to clamp onto the sissy bar and that did not work at all.  I did not have the Ultimate seats or back rest, so I had to adapt.  My wife, Susan, is quite petit so I ended up making two short aluminum straps to lower the height of the arm rests while attaching them to the two lower bolt locations on the arm rest...

They are great.

Kathy is not a small woman, and is very comfortable back there. they are sturdy and bolt on easily.

While I have never taken them off, you just pill the pin on the piano hinge...and off they come. Quick and easy.

I have a set on my bike for a few years now. Overall they are great but i have a few complaints about them.

1. The chrome started chipping in the back. This is covered by a 1 year warranty by Ultimate seats but i was over the 1 year and they would not replace them. My bike is clean and stored inside.

2. I have the Tsukayu jumbo strong bags. With these bags the armrests need to be mounted as high as possible or the bags will hit the armrest when opening them if the armrest is in the down position.

3. At high speeds (95 mph and up) the wind makes them fly up without a passenger on the back putting weight on them.

I have been able to do simple modifications to them to solve all of these issues (besides the chrome peeling) and as i said before, overall myself and my passenger love them and I would recommend them to anyone. I just wanted to give you some things to look out for that i wish i knew before i got them.

1. my chrome is no longer perfect, and I don't even have the
things installed on the bike very often or for very long.

2. you have to lift them for the OEM bags too... seems better
to set them at a passenger comfort height and just deal
    with lifting them...

3. at high speeds (95 and up) mine are sitting on a shelf at home  Wink

If I do 95mph my wife will be uncomfortable with or without arm rests. So much so in fact that it makes me uncomfortable because my hearing gets damaged.  Wink
