All I want is

A bedside clock radio with alarm.

Really, it would be great to just have my own clock radio with alarm bedside next to my own bed, inside my own home.

However with my home burning most of that isn't going to happen.

I am however determined to find a motel style bedside clock radio with alarm.

You've seen them and you've used them.

Those flattish brown bricks with the readout at the front of the radio.

The one with the glowing green/red light for A.M or P.M. I prefer red.

Ebay has some but way over priced.

The local "super" stores are laden with the latest cuboid style flourishing with USB slots and multi function buttons which quickly reveal their incapability to perform more than one function..

I've bought 4 different models. Each one from a different manufacturer.

Each one had a different fail in its setup.

Each has been returned.

Hence my quest for an old school bedside clock/radio with alarm.

One with the tuning/volume selectors as dials on the right side of the unit.

Other controls on the top of the unit.

Band selection on the left.

If you don't know what band selection means then    Cheesy Grin Cheesy

I want radio with a 59 minute snooze.

I want to see the time without having to pick something up.

Don't know if you have an Iphone but the Twelve South stand is upright and it charges the phone with Hey Siri you just ask and Siri tells you the time. If you want hit the center bottom button and you can see the time. Snooze is no problem and alarm set can also be done by Siri. If you have another type phone I can imagine a similar thing is not available. I love in the middle of the night not have to do anything just ask Siri the time.

I bought one and the LED clock is so bright it lights up the room and I can't sleep. I cover it with some lite weight cloth and at night I can see the time through the cloth.

I just wanted a clock too!

In the myriad of settings there may be one to reduce the brightness?

If you can determine which buttons and the sequence to press them. The instructions are in the main; I find; of course written in pidgin English

Britman....I have this exact one...........

http://www.ebay.com/itm/131611445399?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I don't know how old it is, but I've had it for years and years.  It works great, never had a problem with it.  I use the radio to wake me up.

Here's another one that looks a little newer....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/321874482583?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Search around on eBay....there's more of this type.

If you haven't found your dream clock radio yet, I have one that I'll send you.  AM/FM, dials for volume and tuning, dual alarms, 59 minute snooze, red dimmable LED readout.  Been serving faithfully for quite a while.  Not new but in perfect shape.
