I got a set of risers at a good price, the only problem is they are square at the bottom. Is there a way to fit them, or am I out of luck?

I'd say that depends, a lot, on just how large the square is. The stock risers do not fill the broached circles on the top of the tree; measure the square bottom, corner to corner, and compare that to the 'landing zone' on the tree.

Try it....you'll like it....
My guess without seeing a photo is that they will work, even if there is a slight overhang. I had a set of risers from Rivco that were flat and rectangular and they worked, but with a slight overhang.

They look like the ones in this site but 4''. I was thinking, maybe I will make a small spacer out of aluminum to fill the gap so that it comes out flush.
