Interstate heater vent question

Take a gander at this for a moment if you all will...The inner piece of plastic doesn't look like it's correct. I don't feel much heat coming out of the vents when I'm riding; usually more when the fan kicks in. So my question is this; does the piece of plastic inside the vent need to be moved, adjusted or just removed all together to get more heat off the block?

That piece goes behind the trailing edge of the vent.

When the pod was installed last it was not installed correctly.

That's kind of what I suspected...That plastic is pretty well bent which is why I'd wonder if removal would be easier

Don't remove it, it's used as a sort of baffle to direct heat away from the engine area and out the side.

I hope he meant removal as to the pod, so he could reinstall is correctly.  I agree it should be in there, just in the right place.  It's flexible and can go back to,where it belongs....

Yup! It just needs to be removed so I can reinstall it correctly. Might have to replace that piece of plastic though; not sure if I can Bend it back into place without it breaking

It bends easy and you might be able to simply push it into where it belongs without removing the pod.

It looks like it has some sort of retaining clip holes in it that's why I figured removing the pod would be easier. I'll find a diagram of the install and get it where it needs to be here in a bit since I can't locate a good picture of the placement of the inner piece

just push it back into place.  I had to do this last night after I reinstalled the pods.  The holes don't do anything it just sits in place.
