Drive train tech tip

Especially for the owners of older Valkyries.  If you still have the original drive shaft. And, the original oil seal that is mounted on the drive shaft.  Think about replacing the oil seal.  I did not think it was important, until the seal flat wore out, came off it's perch and yes, I suffered the dreaded dry rusty pinion cup and ruined drive shaft splines.

It's much cheaper to replace the seal than to buy a new drive shaft and pinion cup.

Think about it.

Great advice Chris!  How many miles did you have on your bike since the last final drive service?   :-\  From this forum, I know you take exceptional care of your "lady".  :)

It's only been 4 to 5 K miles.  The seal looked  great at that time.  I was planning on changing it next tire change.  Oh well.
