Was at the huge Veteran High Ground near Neilsville Wi. www.thehighground.org/ on Sat. for a car/bike show to generate some money an took another 2nd place. It was a plaque which was better than any Trophy I won. It was very sweet and the 1st place plaque was nothin but fantastic. Maybe I enjoy it so much is because I'm a veteran. I still an not able to post these Pics yet but would like to share it with yous and if somebody would post it for me I'll send it to them Monday after work.

Congrats.    cooldude

I too have thought about entering my Valk in the few small town car/bike shows and see if I'd win or not 2nd or 3rd place or so.  But, that would mean spit polishing my Valk up to near spotless which takes a few days to do being fine detail cleaning which I rarely do spending two 1/2 days or so in a row cleaning it up.  Being all black,  it gets dirty quicker but once cleaned up,  it puts a smile to my face almost looking like a 5 year old bike vs. a 15 year old bike, minus a few scratches and one small dent in gas tank that was there when I bought it 6 years or so ago.

Biggest issue I have the few times I do that,  it gets noticed way, way too much at local stores I ride it to and ends up with someone coming up to me wanting to ask questions and look at the bike which usually I have NO time for usually in a rush to get in/out of the stores.

Cookiedough just do it. I shined mine up in Spearfish an haven't touched it much since. I'd say About an hour each time. If you clean her up good an put the best polishing stouff on her she'll stay nice with a simple hose down. Then just top her off.    Their are a lot of really nice bikes out there.  Some shows are rinky dink then their are some where you can get in some serious completion.  Be proud of what you have an show her off. Last do talk to people.its espically fun in front of Harley people.

Thanks Bob for putting this up wasn't sure if you got the email/gmail.            The bike you guys see is the bike I had at the last 2 inzanes. I wanted to show her last year but endéd up on a Mtn top when the show was on. Took 2nd this year at Inzanes in the wild custom class but it didn't mean anything cause we only had 2 bikes, the pic is in a drawer some place. Been in 5 shows since June an took a best in show, and 4  2nd place. Missing trophyis in a storage locker. The picture is worth a million bucks and I s going on the wall, I can't say the same for the trophy's. The High Ground I a very special  Veterans Memorial here in Wi. And as a vet I'm very proud to of won it.

Nice I/S.  The paint job and mural on tank along with velocity stacks am sure won it for you, both of which my mostly stock black I/S does not have.

Would be interesting to find out though since in a sea of HD's in towns near me of about 3000 or less people putting on these bike/car shows,  would be the ONLY Honda and one not made for 15 years now.  One of a kind being different might win something on a 7K bike vs. a 15K+ on up rest of the bikes in the competition??  Roll Eyes

Cookiedough ,your pretty close what may have done it but l realized I had to point out to people what I've done to her and on those little IDs they give you at the shows to describe what you done to your machine I  direct them to the clipboard I place at the front tire but I see I still left off a couple things like the custom seat from Ultimate Seats, the chrome grill, or the heated handle bars that I have by installing heaters for snowmobiles, or the custom hand grips, or about the rear bearing mod.        What is on the clip board is 2000 Honda VALKYRIE with over 100000 miles on her, The custom windshield I made that has 2 different contours and from aircraft polycarbonate, the custom luggage racks I made by hand, 6 disc CD changer I've installed with 5 inch speakersan an amp., the lighted mirrors that I have installed for extra safety flash front & rear,  installed daytime running lights,  forward foot rest, the rear foot rest are for a harley intergraded rubber chrome. I've installed a automatic cruise control that is for a car, added a 130 debicle horn, and 4 " truck stacks, and that I have installed velocity stacks to the 6 carburetors (shhh), and that I have installed air shocks with a aircompressor mounted under the trunk, and that she sports a car tire on the rear.  I did not say about the help I got from you guys about the sterio system, cruise, the heaters ,the hand grips, the car tire,or rear bearing mod. And did not lay claim those were my ideas. This board and you guys are the greatest, thank-you !
