Well I just finished the electrical work on my new 99' Valk. I wired up a 12-volt receptacle for my GPS and I also mounted two 3000 Lumen LED passing lights...... and Mama Mia are they BRIGHT. I mean super bright. I wired two circuits, one is constant on and the other is wired through an LED flasher. They flash twice a second and will get a blind man's attention. I will never hear the excuse, "Sorry, I didn't see you coming." I'll try to post a video. The light looks like this Here is a link to the lights in flash mode: http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v335/1desertdog/valkyrie/20151006_175723_zpsdmjxta0y.mp4The Hyper Lights in the rear should help too: http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v335/1desertdog/valkyrie/20150927_145729_zpsqlkmwd8b.mp4Here is what you get for less than $200 for the 3000 Lumen lights. You get everything you need to mount the lights and do the electrical. It is a complete kit. Contact me for more info.

I need to add more lights. I spliced in a trailer harness and messed things up. None of my turn signals work correctly now. Along the way I've added BigBF's quad horns and an auxiliary power port under the seat. Could have messed that up as well. I need to get all that sorted out before I can add more lights. And, I have whole set of red led lights in a box waiting to be installed. Anybody in the NY, NJ, CT areas up for a wiring party?

I'm with ya on the hyper light in the rear. And, I like the front driving/passing lights.....the flashing part of that not so much. Your lights flashing could very well be the blinding part.

Thats why I serched and found driving lights that, if I want, can be set to strobe... I know its not legal to drive down the road with them in strobe mode but for those short, high traffic areas and to pull into town, or parking lot, it sure make me seen.... I also have a set of double LED lights ,with center spot, and a outer ring of flood. if I ever get tired of the ones on the bike now,I could switch the out but, they would have to be mounted on the case guards, tooo big to put inside the front cowling

Red, not to rain on your parade, but you may be sited for the flashing feature you have installed on the front. I have a Kisan flasher on my headlight, and those have very specific requirements for both flash rate and relative intensity. Those requirements are set by a Federal Statue (FMVSS 108, 49 CFR, Part 571.108 S7.9.4) and probably by state statues. Just be warned.
I like what you have done in the rear...

Some may take your "slow" flash as permission to turn across you Remember, they are all trying to kill you.

I have a headlight on a modulator with 100 watt high, Cobra light bar using 50 watts each, and 5000 lumen LED fog lights on the crashbar. Guess what? They still can't see me coming because I am invisible. Just saying.......

I'm pretty sure what you have in the front is illegal. I wouldn't have you ride behind me. If the Hyper Lights in the back flash constantly, rather than just with the brakes, they are illegal as well. If you really want to increase your safety, take an experienced/advanced rider course if you haven't done that recently.

Checked out your vids & showed them to my Brother Lawdog, he says all the flashing mod (front & rear) is illegal in Tn. I understand wanting to be seen but people run into fire trucks & ambulances. You're still invisible, trust me. .02 worth.

I have a set of flashing LED red strobes in back that only come on and double flash alternately when I hit the brakes....and they are BRIGHT. Had a local LEO pull up next to me at a light a few months back, rolled his window down and yelled at me while rubbing his eyes; "those suckers sure are bright, I could see you hit the brakes from two blocks back." I asked and he told me as long as they flash only while braking he didn't see a problem with them. Had a state trooper pull next to me once, just pointed to the brake lights and gave me the thumbs up, then drove away. They all seemed to realize I'm only using them to be seen from behind when braking, hope I'm right.

The flashing LED Hyper Lights in the rear are only energized when the brakes are applied. The LED passing lights in front can be switched from a flashing mode to a constant on mode with the flick of a switch. I was out for a ride yesterday and those front LEDs caught the attention of a person that was just about to pull out in front of me. Also, the front LEDs are not run during the evening hours unless on a road with no oncoming traffic. Considering the safety factor.....I'll take my chances with the LEOs.

Nothing more annoying than having a bike behind you with a flashing modular. I drive for a living ( 22 wheel heavy hauler ) and the universal sign to bring it over or go ahead and turn in front of me is a flash of the lights.

The fog lamps are from Cree, I found them at an auto parts chain that was closing their doors locally. They are mounted on the lower part of the crashbar. I don't use them much at night even mounted there since the lights cause oncoming traffic to swerve out of their lane. The lumen rating was on the box and while I can't verify the truth of that claim, I can attest that they are bright. I beleive the original packaging called them truck mountable work lights.

You are a professional, sadly most drivers lack even a portion of your skills. Those are the ones that we are invisable too. At least a modulator gives us a better chance of being seem by that bunch.

I am planning on adding some additional lighting to my 99 IS. Any ideas on the best light bar for the rear under the trunk? Also I would like to light her up from the side. I see a lot of HD's with great light bars under the side of the trunks. Thanks for any ideas!

I'm in for light to the front but strobes are illegal to the front of a vehicle. Modulators, I would have to check the books here (?) but I don't like em at night. They definitely do their job but are annoying. Strobes can also cause seizures in epileptics.

Modulators should not be used at night. My Kisan was light sensitive.

I HAVE A SECOND SET OF LED LIGHTS DOUBLE RING IN EACH (of spot in center, with outer flood) that needs bracket to mount to engine or case guards.... since I have the driving lights in the front cowling already ,and a spare set of lights, in case one goes out, I could sell these if any one is interested........

I predict a lot of blind people in your future. You could have a big flashing sign on top of you saying "here I am, dont run over me or pull out in front of me" and people would still do it. I agree with joe, those flashing lights are very annoying. Yes they get attention bjt they will never be on a bike I own .

I've used a headlight modulator for years and always turn it off when behind another rider. I can imagine it's just as annoying as being followed by another bike with it's brights on.

I've always said the are two kinds of riders I wouldn't ride with, Stupid ones and those with extremely loud pipes unless I was in front of the loud pipes. Sure didn't think there would be a third group but, modulating head lights are annoying. I guess if a rider with extremely loud pipes put a modulating headlight on his bike, he would be someone I couldn't ride with.
I'm told loud pipes saves lives, I don't buy it. Modulating headlights might be a good thing unless, it's the guy behind you. I think I'll stick with my headlight and driving lights, life is a challenge and riding is a risk, I accept both.

Modulators should not be used at night. My Kisan was light sensitive. When I first started playing with this band I'm in now they used a strobe behind the drummer. I told em I can't do strobes they bug me so now there is a sound sensitive set behind the drummer. Not near as bad. I agree, modulators at night are terrible but during the day they definitely are visible. visibility especially during the day is a good thing!
