AND they ARE on the road with us EVERYDAY! AND they ARE killing us and others. AND at times as you have seen-they ain't even aware they ARE doing it! Cell phones need to shut off as the vehicle is put in drive or the clutch is let out EXCEPT for 911 calls. Kinda-no just like drunk driving THIS MUST cease/stop/desist/end. Honor student or criminal-vehicular homicide-at lest 25 years in the grey bar motel. Or am I being to harsh? RIDE SAFE.

This is certainly something that we can not ever forget while we are riding. Unfortunately it is not only the young drivers that are doing this. Every age group is doing it, and they are male and females. So just remember this and watch out for them, ride defensively and always expect to be cut off while you ride. If you do, you will be ready for it when it happens.

not that tech savvy, but there are apps on their smartphones that will know the time your teenage drivers are using texting/etc. while they are driving.
Luckily, my daughter now 17 for last year knows BEST NOT to EVER do such stupid _hit like that or she will be dealt with meaning NO driving which equals NO job and walk to school, etc.
I admit, I have texted a few quick ones while driving about 1-2 per year tops, but like everyone else, I should not ever though do it but I NEVER take my eyes off the road for more than 2-3 seconds at a time, is still not right to do since ONLY takes 1 second to get into an accident. Texting while driving, for me for sure, is much harder to concentrate on while driving than if I am eating food or using bluetooth on my cell phone both which I rarely do as well.
These teenagers on phone are not looking at the road at all for say 5-10 seconds which is just plain crazy.

I guess my question would be, why are these people (kids) on camera in the first place? Is this a moving "selfie"? Nothing like a video of yourself being an idiot driving a 2800 lb killing machine. Something to be proud of. I covered an accident last night where a SUSPENDED driver blew a stop sign and "T" boned a guy. (no serious injuries) I ran off 180' of skids on her vehicle from start to finish and she said she stopped at the stop sign....Thats why there is 180' of skids! This is her 3rd offense (suspended) and she was driving daddy's NEW car. (Totaled) I wrote him for allowing and she went to jail. I've had it with this texting crap. A woman working in her yard saw the girl approaching the intersection and texting. She knew this girl wasn't going to stop. Then going through the stop at around 55+ MPH. She would have killed a biker and lucky she didn't this guy. When I asked her why she was driving she stated: "well I had to go to my girl friends and I wasn't going to walk, would you"? 21 years old and suspended 3rd? Daddy's claim to fame was he didn't know she was suspended. Ya, right! This is out of control and no one is doing a thing about it. All I can do is what I do but it doesn't keep these people all over the world from texting and killing people.

So was this video "staged" by the AAA? I can't imagine that they put cameras in a lot of teen drivers cars and wait for the $hit to happen. But maybe...

Staged, most of those wrecks would have been much more violent.

I don't believe those were staged... I can't name them, but some insurance companies will give a discount for 'teen' drivers if the car is equipped with this type of camera. I can't believe how many drivers I see texting, and I live way outside of the city. Adult men & women along with every age a driver can be. I'm very vocal when given the chance to let them know what I think of their total disregard for my life and the life of others The air horns on the Valk have caused some texters to jump so hard they toss their phones Some just drop the phone and drive on without eye contact, and some, like the cute 20 something blonde girl I yelled at, just flip me off and continue texting... Head on a swivel at all times... They're all trying to kill us Black Dog
