Riding home after work, took the long way home, I was approaching an intersection 4 lanes each way and slowed as I could tell the light was about to change. I had just entered when the light turned yellow but decided to keep going when a car made a left turn right in front of me. I was slow enough to miss him when the car behind that one also turned left by this time I'm sure the light had turned red. I make a sharp left after locking up the front wheel for a second then a sharp right just missing the back bumper of the second car. As I come around this car I see a another coming from my right as that lane now had the green. I twisted throttle and got the heck out of there.

Don't know how I avoided everything. This has been replaying in my head in slow motion all night and all I can think is it was my lucky night.

Glad to hear that you escaped without any issues (other than possibly some laundry problems).

Apparently you didn't get the email/news that traffic lights are only official and to be adhered to if a local LEO is obviously watching.    Otherwise, folks can do whatever they want.   At least, that's what I'm seeing.

Good reactions, keep riding defensively.   It's the only way to stay upright.   cooldude

Excellent reaction to the number one problem, left turns in front of motorcyclists.  Glad you're ok.

Even though I no longer ride, I especially drive defensively as they don't seem to notice my Miata either.

Stuff happens.  Experience causes the right reactions. Ya done good !  It also pays to be lucky sometimes. Maybe the 2 go hand in hand.

There's something about the combination of the "I got lucky last night" and seeing it was posted by
Grandpaweaver drew a smile to my face.

I understand though. I "used" to get lucky on my birthday---guaranteed, but not so much anymore.

Btw, glad you are ok!

Better to be lucky than good, but both sure don't hurt.

Another story 'bout what has happened to each and every one of us........it never ends.

I could tell you a story that would make you cry...

GPW, Waytago.  Nice moves.  BTW, do you have extra light on the front of your bike?  I put two pairs of spots up there and added a modulator on Deerslayer - haven't ever had a failure-to-yield incident since doing that years ago.  Doing the same on Jade.  Just sayin.
