I just got off the phone with what use to be Lawrenceville Honda and they do not work on my 98 Valk. No more than 10 years old. Where do you take your valk in Atlanta?

Thanks

Gary's Hobby Shop may be able to help, excellent service from him in the past with my GL1800 traxxion upgrade. I think he will work on Valks as well. 770-914-0407

What do you need done?  Nevermind, I read your post on the tech board.  Sounds like a wheel bearing to me.  Should be easy to fix if you have been doing the rear end spline maintnance

That's about stupid of that dealer. The rates a Honda shop charges they should work on anything.

I am sorry. I forgot to mention I changed the rear rearing both sides. I will check the plastic cover.
Thanks

Yup, local Honda dealer won't work on my bikes because I didn't buy them at his place.
Either he doesn't like money or he already has enough of it.  So, I definitely won't buy anything from him and encourage others to do so at every chance I get. Angry

Two different Honda dealerships refused to work on the VTX while it was under warranty some 10+ years ago because it had a (gasp!) car tire mounted on the rear. The issue was a torn tank on the radiator. Both of those stealers are no longer around and I no longer feel guilty about ordering parts online. The Big Girl has never once been to a dealership since she has been under my care.

When I bought my Aspencade in 2008, the first thing I did when I got it home was take it to the local Honda dealer. Just wanted him to check it out. He refused for the same reason; over 10 years old. Best thing that ever happened to me. I went home, found the Steve Saunders Gold Wing Forum, and never looked back. Just like this forum, so much info and experience to draw from it's incredible. Screw the Honda "Stealers."

Last year I had my local dealer put a new tire on the rear under warranty. 1 week later while I was on a ride my rear wheel bearing went out. Never again.

Talk about Quality work at a dealership in South Florida.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a '99 Tourer with 49.8K on it.  The previous owned had just had his loacal dealership install 2 new tires, new brake pads, new K & N air filter and "adjusted" the steering heaed bearings.
What I was found:

1. The front tire=out of balance
2. Non-OEM pads installed causing lots of pad rattle in calipers
3. Filter installed up-side down and oiled on bottom side!
4. Steering head bearing were so over-tightened that I thought that I had lost my complete sense
    of balance.

With the help of Chris in Crestview, we got it all straigthtened out!!

I guess I must be luckier than most. The Honda Dealer in Fort Collins, CO, Interstate Honda, will work on Valkyries. Even if you have a car tire on it! They work on and sell trikes too. Their work has been excellent the few times I've needed something that I didn't want to do myself. Most of their techs are something called Red Level Honda Technicians. They are a nice bunch of folks and the owner rides a 1998 Valkyrie!
