Tonight, Mets/Dodgers in Game 5.  Who do you want the Cubs to face on Saturday for the National League Pennant?  NLCS.  Who conjured up that corporate slogan industrialist baloney?  It's the Pennant, dammit!!!  Me, I wanna see them face the Dodgers as it brings me back to Brooklyn vs. Chicago of the 50's.  It'll be a good series for watching good pitching vs. small ball hitting.
Besides, can't stand the Mets as they reside in New Yawk and 1986 is never far from a Boston boy's memory.  Still waiting for Bill Buckner to field that soft roller. Cry  Lucky bastards. tickedoff

As a guy who's rooted for the Red Sox since drawing first breath, I'm pulling for the Cubs just so that their fans can feel the way I did in 2004 after suffering the agony of defeat for most of my life.

Go Cubbies!  Time for the Curse of the Goat to join the Curse of the Bambino.  uglystupid2           Give Harry a chance to sing his 7th inning opera in heaven's bleachers with a whiskey in one hand and a microphone in the other.   "A-one, A-two...." Cool

For the few fans of the national pastime. Smiley

Blue Jays vs. Royals for the AL Pennant.
Cubs vs. Mets for the NL Pennant.

These will be good games to see who plays for the World Series; I think that the best teams are being represented.  Balanced pitching and hitting are common to all four and it should be interesting to those who still like baseball.

So, I think it'll be Kansas City and Chicago for the World Series, an all middle-America final.  Two cities that epitomize "Where's the Beef?" in their history.  It should go seven, hopefully, to prolong the summer/fall classic as long as possible.

Got my fingers crossed for the Cubs and their long-suffering fans. cooldude

After that?  Winter cometh, el nino. Sad

I was so so bout the White Sox in 05. Born in the Windy City and raised bout 50 miles North of it. Where I come from you were a Sox fan or a Cubs fan. You could NOT be both. You would have been better off claiming membership in the communist party. Guys I grew up with and ran around with were one or the other. Been a Cubs fan-all though at times not a GOOD fan-all my life. People have gone to their graves waiting for "their Cubs" to go to the World Series. I would dearly love to see them go to the World Series. BUT in order to do THAT they need to win 4 games in the N L C S.  cooldude Just so happens "my" team in the A L is the Royals-BUT I've been a Cubs fan MUCH longer than I've been a Royals fan.  Roll Eyes IF the World Series match up is Cubs/Royals-gotta back the Cubs!  coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.

Diehard Minnesota Twins fan here, but this year I'll have to cross over to the NL and root for the Cubs.  It's about time the Curse of the Goat fades away...

Cheer for the Cubs if you must.  Right now Toronto and Kansas City are determining who will be the winner of the World Series.   Smiley
