From the battery.

Then which way have y'all run the power cord to be able to plug in a liner.

I added a relay, and fuse, and ran the cord out in front of the seat. My liner plug with the controller is at belt level, and has some slack that I keep under my jacket, so I can step off the bike without stressing the cords. I can tuck the end of the cord under the front of the seat when I'm not using it. Most convenient for me :cooldude:

I run almost no length of wire, connected to the battery
via a relay and the acc wire (so the clothes wire is only
hot when the key is on)... the clothes wire is just long enough
to either peek handily from behind a side cover, or be
stuffed behind the side cover in the summer...

So up out of the battery compartment from under the battery cover and then peeking out from the left frontside of the seat?

Michvalk

Yep! You could alter that somewhat, by what is most convenient to the plugin on your clothes. I kept it in front of me, because it helped me remember to unplug before I walked away...LOL :cooldude:

So there's room between seat and bike frame etc so the power cord doesn't get crimped?

There is through the front. You'll want to make sure if you go any other direction

I wired mine from my fuse block to be hot all the time.  When I had the original seat, the connector was barely higher than the seat.

I used heat-shrink tubing to have a piece of solid copper house wire keep the wiring exactly where I want it to be.

Thanks.

The  new Gerbing liner I bought has a REALLY short cord. It isn't going to hang below the hem of my winter jacket. Bloody stupid design.

Connected my power cord directly to the battery. Figured it would never be plugged in unless I was wearing a heated item, so no reason to add it to a relay of a ignition only power source.

Tucked it out from under the seat, at the rear, near the trunk, since it's my wife that uses it.

My battery charger lead is at the front of the seat, where I tuck it in between the tank and seat, when not being used.
