I just purchased a 03 Valkyrie last week. It has 26k miles on it and is in great condition accept the front fender is not shiny like the rear or the tank. It looks like someone tried use a 3M scrub pad to remove something. It has been laid down once. There is a scrape on the right saddle bag lid and the windshield and radiator are new. All the chrome looks excellent. I bought it from a used car dealer for $3000, so I do not know any history on the bike. But it does run perfect. I have 2014 Ultra Classic and I was looking for a cheap bike to drive to work and play with. I have always wanted a Valkyrie and I was looking at a V-Rod when I saw this one. The V-rod was $4000. I knew that I needed the most trouble free bike as my daily driver, so I got the Val. I have already gotten some good info from this forum already. Like why does this bike whine so much at 55 mph! LOL. It's an awesome bike! I have only put 400 miles on it and have gotten more compliments last Saturday on the Val than I have my Ultra in the 18 mos I've owned it. I love it!

Welcome to the addiction-for which there is no known cure. Straight cut gears are the whine at 55 M P H or so. SMALL trade off for a cursed near bullet proof tranny. Black A B S hardening cement is a good and inexpensive filler on the road rash on the bag. Sandable and paintable. Check our classifieds for bits and pieces you may find yourself in need of. My brother-da prez-mayor may not have some stuff you need for sale. There is something on our board titled I believe-known Valkyrie problems or some such. You'll get comfortable on he Valkyrie and for ya knows it yer takin longer and longer trips on her. Take some time and read thru some of the tech archives. MOST folks here love to help a newbie and before long-yer helpin others! Again-welcome to the insanity that are us-don't feed the specimens-lessin ya got beer and B B Q-and try hard to not take a dump in the sandbox! RIDE SAFE.

is just the nature of the tranny, noisy in 5th from 2000 RPM's to 2500 RPM's. Solution: Go a little over the 2500 RPM's or 55 MPH!!

That front fender looks like it may have been cut down a bit.
I looked it over and it's either OEM or if it was cut down, it was done by a pro and repainted.

Thanks guys. I have put 600 miles on it since Oct. 8th. Zero issues. No leaks. I was a little worried about the age with somewhat low miles. It appears that the bike has been taken care off. Gas mileage is where it's supposed to be and it purrs, so carbs are good and clean.
5 years ago I bought a 01 Suzuki Marauder with 9000 miles on it. It looked brand new but It was not a drive home bike. It took a little work getting back into shape carb wise.
