As many of you know, I had the terrible task of putting down my buddy Bruno, a few weeks ago  :'(

Well, when one door closes, another opens...

My son Austin was pouring over every shelter in a 500 mile radius, and found a 'No Kill' shelter in Huntly IL.  He heard that this shelter was to be getting a litter (5) of Lab mix pups.  I filled out the online application (longer than some job applications I've seen), and got a call back a few hours later that we had been approved  cooldude

We made the hour and a half trip, last Saturday morning, and fell in love...

Meet Bluto (the shelter is named the Animal House, so as rambunctious as this lil' dude is, we thought John Belushi's character was the perfect name), Blu for short... 14 weeks old today.

The house was 'empty' for the weeks following the loss of Bruno.  Now, it's like having a toddler running around  Wink

Thanks for all the support from those of you that responded to the sad post a few weeks ago...  Having this family to lean on, from time to time, really makes a difference  Smiley

Congratulations, Steve!  I hope Blu hasn't completely outgrown his sweet puppy breath stage.  I've found that to be very good medicine.  Even if he has, the rambunctiousness works well, too!

I had to smile when I saw the pup on the couch. Both of my dogs love that spot on the back of the couch.

Congrats.  He's a fine looking dog, truly God's greatest gift to us humans.  From reading my emails yesterday looks like my wife has found a golden for us that will be ready come Christmas.

He's a good looking pup, hope you all have many happy years together.

He's one of the lucky ones from a shelter.

We love our Janey!

Congratulations on the new addition! Bluto said he "found some new pet humans and they are easily trained". Gotta love dogs! I've always wondered if it's a coincidence or some history behind the fact that dog is God spelled backwards?

As hard as it is to let go of one when the time comes another is good medicine. Congrats on the new family member. cooldude

Congratulations on finding the pup you were looking for.

I had to put my buddy Jake down a few weeks back, didn't realize how close I was to him until I had to take care of that duty.    He was a Mastiff, great travel buddy although, he couldn't drive worth a damn.    Still looking to fill that void left by his passing.

Finding one that is affordable has become a very challenging task.

Steve. I don't get on much now-a-days... so I missed your sad post. I have done that a lot, and recently as well. I am currently "between dogs". The best way to fill that gap is to get another.

Congrats buddy. I hope to see you on the road one of these days.

I'm  quite sure Joey and Blu would love to sniff each others but and romp in the grass. Maybe you will  ring Blu to next year's "
Q in da woods". Wishing you and Blu many happy times.

I was told once my dog had "Old, knowing eyes". Surely one of the best friends I ever had.
Blu has "Old, knowing eyes".
Good rescue. Now your safe.
