Honda built the CBX, 1500 GoldWings, Valkyries, and the 1800 GoldWings.
BMW now builds the K1600 series and Kawasaki built the monster KZ1300's and the 1300 Voyager.

But a motorcycle company right here in the Motor City was well ahead of the Japanese manufacturers by about 54 years.
Who was that motorcycle manufacturer?

It was Excelsior Henderson, way back in 1926.

Very "kewl".....and did you know that the original R&D design of the Goldwing motor was a six? Why they decided on a four, I have no idea.

Those are awesome looking motorbikes ! I think they were built for several years until the company went OOB. I don't believe many were made but I can't find any figures.

When Honda was still building Roadracers - they had some 6  cylinder Inline 250CC that would scream at 18,000 RPM .
