New speaker of the House.  How's he gonna do?  Can he rope in the mavericks and make progress?       Is he a motivator/leader that can get an agenda moving on both sides of the aisle? Undecided
Frankly, he needs to kick ass, take names, and get this country moving forward.

I believe Paul Ryan is a distinct improvement over Boner.  We'll see.

One wonders what is going on in the House.  The conservative majority may be holding off (on drastic cuts I'd like to see) so as to not negatively influence the next presidential election.  Or they may all be idiot RHINOs just out for themselves like everyone else.  Maybe some of both.

I like Paul Ryan.  I do not like anything like blanket amnesty.

Mine the border 1000 yards deep from Brownstown to TJ.  It's worked pretty well in Korea.

Be careful what you wish for.  Smiley I hope Mr. Ryan has success as Speaker of the House.

I wish for the best for Mr. Ryan.  To me he has said all the right things so far, but as we know words and action are totally different, just look at old Mitch from KY. and there are hundreds more.  He said rules are going to be different and all inclusive, everyone will get to give input and craft legislation and if so that would be good.  He is young, energetic, smart, and committed to getting the budget balanced.   The former speaker Boehner is from my district but lost all will to fight for principles in past four years and spoke rudely of folks like me towards the end.   Ryan went to college just 40 miles away from me , Miami U in Oxford, OH., so he knows what folks like me in the hinterland expect and I think he will do fine.

The gun lobbies don't like him.  However I think he has to be an improvement over that lush Bonehead.

Gig, you do know that Oxford, OH is the center of the universe don't you.

Butler County might be his home but he will end up working in DC on K Street.

I like Ryan.  I don't know him but several of the people that I teach with were here when he attended Miami U and speak very highly of him.  BTW, very few of them are right wing nut jobs, imagine that on a college campus.  As an Econ major he has the background to understand the needs of the economy and with his double major in Political Science plus his experience in the house he should be able to work with most of the congress.  Good Luck Paul!!
