Damm things can be persistent also, we had a coon get run over in front of the house 2 feet from my mailbox. Itook some gloves and picked it up and tossed it in a field across the street. Damm vultures found it and I be darned if they picked it up out of the fields and drug it in my front yard to eat it.
First off, they have no sense of smell that's how they can eat what they do, but they have extremely good eye site.
A guy I used to work with owned some timber land where turkey vultures would roost at night. He said the stench of there st!t was overwhelming.
