One of my college roommates was a chemical engineering major at Purdue.
He told me this 15 years ago.  The experts knew it but the politicians wouldn't accept the facts.
Amazing how little has changed on that front.

Yep, its been known for quite some time. But, as long as politicians are involved I doubt we'll see a change for quite some time.

Yup gas is back on the way up again. Reason?  Bet if it continues they will still have an excuse for not giving  a  SS raise. I realize it has a way to go but it seems to always get there fast.

Yeah, my medicare supplement is going up 23 bucks a month in 2016. SS will have no COLA because of gas prices (supposedly).

Ethanol is subsidized by the Feds., has lower energy content, is destructive to seals, etc, and pollutes.

Big money in it for some. Farmers want to continue it, pols REALLY like it, and, did I mention, BIG money in it! It's hard to get the pigs away from the trough.

Jim Quinn who does conservative talk radio in Pittsburgh used to say that a conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged.

When the gas tax is so much per gallon, and when gas prices are low, and the public uses more gas, how does that convert to the government getting less money??

Isn't it just more government stupidity, or, their smoke and mirrors. How can they consider low fuel costs into SS payouts, it just doesn't make sense. When does much of anything they do make sense.  They can't raise SS because they have stolen $3 trillion from it with no thought to replace it.
