I'm in the process of changing all fluids etc etc on my "new" 98 tourer.

Bought a Sears lift. Old one destroyed in house fire.

Thought about building a wood adapter. Thought about buying the previous kind of adapter I owned. The type that has to be fitted to the bike each time the lift is going to be used.

Decided I didn't want either.

Wood one was practical but never felt 100% solid.

Metal one was a pain in the butt to lift up and attach.

Yeah, yeah pause here whilst others tell me how wonderful each of them are.  Roll Eyes

So I do a Google search on adapters and eventually I get to the link for this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170895926144?euid=b1e4b925a34a4ad7b7908a0d6b59bbbb&cp=1&exe=13453&ext=34391&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext

Fit to bike and forget. I know others have done that by mistake with the previously mentioned metal one.  Grin

So click the button to buy it and wait for the USPS to deliver.

Looks well made and sturdy.

Time to fit it to the bike.

Roll lift into place and start to follow instructions.

Get all necessary tools laid out on the floor. This rental house doesn't have much in the way of light in the garage and I can't see where it's to fit.

Creak up off the floor and get a flashlight.

Creak down on to the floor.

Turn flashlight on and aim beam of light at kickstand cross member and you wil never guess wht's revealed.

OK You will guess.

Yep, one of the frickin adapters is already in place.

I lay on my back laughing like a hyena for about 5 minutes and then chuckled and giggled for about 10 more minutes.

Once recovered I jacked the bike up and with hand on heart this is the most stable adapter I've ever used.

I'd previously made a wood one and used the metal one that needed to be put on and taken off.

Plus it stays unobtrusively fitted to the bike.

Pretty much explains it being hidden. I have the same and love it. used it many times, maint, and adding acc. Also can leave the bike raised and move around side to side etc. during winter mo. storage. They say will prevent flat spots on tires sitting.

Do you have one fitted?

Have you seen one in place?

It's tucked away very neatly. Sure, lay on the ground and you may be able to see it without a flashlight.

Sounds like me ordering Interstate carb springs for my Tourer, and popping open the covers to discover the PO had already switched them out!

Wonder if that lift adapter would install around BigBF's quad horns.  How much weight does it add to the bike?

Hey, I had a VA female claimant who claimed she had had 17 husbands.

Homework showed that to be true, over many years.  The problem was she only had around 7 divorces.

Showed this file to a couple office mates and they assumed she must have really been hot, and wanted to see her picture.  NO she was not hot... we could only conclude it must have been the complete lack of teeth.   2funny

I hope the rebuilding of your life is going smoothly Paul.

I have the springs from a previous owner and will keep them for any potential  buyer in the future.

I'm finding quite a few changes. Not done by the seller but a previous owner. I'm hoping he responds to the letter I sent him.

I have also saw here that the adapter makes a great place to mount horns. Unseen and protected on the side of the adapter not interfering with the jack and lifting.

Hi All
I have a 2014 Valkyrie. I am wondering if this lift adapter will work?
I have a lift jack that I used for my 2001 Interstate but never found a way
to lift the rear wheel without a smaller jack at the back.

Apples and oranges??
Apples grow around here but Oranges we get from the produce counter.
Just wondering if this adapter would work on a 2014 Valkyrie or if one
has been thought of. I know ...go to the 1800 board.
