Chewie's rear tire is worn out again. Got about 5,000 miles on this
one, a Pilot Road 4. Jim (Slacker) has me convinced to try a Pirelli Angel
GT Spec-A tire next... So I rode the Log Truck... a real pleasure,
just as always...
We all expected lots of rain this trip. For me, it had been raining
since Sunday, and had rained all night Thursday, was still raining
while I was loading the bike, it stopped before I got out of the
county, with the exception of a short blast when I got to
Tennessee...

Here's me crossing the bridge over the Chattooga river, which separates this
part of South Carolina from Georgia. The Chattooga is the river they used when
filming Deliverance.

I met up with Lance and Gordon and Joe and Wimp at the McDonald's
in Sweetwater, about three and a half hours, and then we continued on
towards Cookeville.

They knew how to avoid Cookeville's red lights in favor of cutting over
to I40 for about 30 miles... Deep Draw Road was a good cut-over...

A bunch of us walked down to the steak house the first night... all
the normal fun happened each night, November or not, the weather was
great for being outside after dark. Gordon was moderately happy
to be there...

Mac led us away right on time on Saturday morning...

Down the highway a few exits...

Off through the country...

Over the Center Hill dam...

Rock Island State park... the really cool building in the
picture is a 1890 vintage cotton mill...

But a waterfall off the direction where we parked grabbed all
my attention away from looking at the cotton mill. Squirrel!

More country...

We ate lunch at a really nice state park, Fall Creek Falls... way
out in the middle of nowhere, a restaurant able to seat and feed
all of us quickly and well...

More country...

The ride was great, roads were great, no trouble on the ride, just
a good day. Everybody started splitting off the next day, I left
with the group I came with (plus Roy on his Goldwing)... We avoided
I40, Joe and Gordon and Roy split off towards Knoxville after we
got to Crossville and me and Wimp and Lance split up after we got
to Madisonville... about 250 miles home for me, all good roads...
Thanks Mac!
