On 11-3  got my last ride in and put the bike up for service. On 11- 4 I had a total left shoulder replacement and was released from the hospital on 11-5. It was a rough day on 11-6 to keep the swelling down but with modern drugs (prescription) and an ice pump , I started feeling better. 11-7 when I woke up, I felt I could tolerate the pain level I had and stopped the drugs .Uncomfortable , not unbearable I just used the ice machine. Went and did some errands with the wife but tire out easy. 11-8 still O-K. 11-9  Dr. wanted me to start physical therapy. I will start on 11-11.
Now for the lead in line. The weather has been perfect for riding.

Sorry to hear about the weather.  I hope it turns really bad quickly to help you validate your decision.   Wink

I have a tendency to move quickly away from pain meds.  My orthopedic surgeon, who I trust much, advised me I should continue on them at least at some level so that the body could take advantage of the anti-inflamation effect to speed up healing.  You already knew that.

Get better soon.  The Spring will be calling to you before you know it.   cooldude

It's only a few more weeks of riding season anyways and a mere few hundred more miles.   I tell the same thing myself year after year and procrastinate until it is in the low 40's for highs late November mere days before it snows before I put up my bike and attempt to clean it and change oil in the cold in the unheated garage.

Ive even been known to get the 1500w electric heater put on high in the garage mere feet away to get the wax to somehow not to freeze nor my fingers, not good.  For what I always ask myself??  Just a few more days of riding is about it.  Really not worth it but I keep doing it year after year.

Besides, the wife gets made at me procrastinating since I have 2 ATV's, a cycle, and scooter to re-arrange/move in order to squeeze in 2 vehicles inside the  2 car garage during winter with mere feet/inches to spare.  She doesn't like a few days now scraping her windshield with low 30's for temps at night recently if forget to put cardboard over the windshield.

Sure hope you heel fast and well but should have plenty of time over the next 4 months of winter to mend.    Hoping for light dusting of 1-2 inches tops of snowfall per outing, no big 12" plus snowstorms at all since I took on the job of shoveling 2 of my elderly neighbors driveways as well as my own.  At least I get some exercise during winter doing that if not a heart attack first?
