I was out at a ST1300 campout over the weekend camping at the Salton Sea in southern California. We were standing around doing a little stargazing when a small light became apparent to the west. the light grew bigger and brighter as we watch until it became apparent we were watching something going up into outer space.
The white filled half the western sky as we watched whatever it was sail off miles away. It was quite sight that I will never forget. Turns out it was a test of a Trident II missile from a submarine launch.
