My son lives in NY city. His job takes him many places over the world. One aspect of his job I'm not crazy about with all the crap going on!
Right now he's in Paris, of all places!
Friday evening he was about to leave his flat to meet some friends at a restaurant. Luckily he was running a bit late because this restaurant was one of the places that was hit by the terrorists!!
One of his friends was shot in the leg during the attack!!
I cannot tell you how much I want him back here at least in the US if not at home in Texas!!
He is scheduled to fly out tomorrow.

What's even scarier is that they are planning similar attacks in the US as I type this, and our President has his head buried deeply in the sand.
Glad your son wasn't in that restaurant.

One good thing you can cling to is that, after the attacks on Paris, the city is probably one of the safer places to be with all the visible enforcement around. Glad your son is okay.

Oh so true!! We were texting back and forth over the W/E, he said it was quite somber there Saturday but Sunday things were getting back to normal, kinda. I told him to be very vigilant and he said he's like 2 blocks away from the French version of the White House and there were tons of "secret service" and military all over!! |

Sometimes things happen that are beyond explanation. Very relieving to know your son is OK & hope his friend completely recovers. What's even scarier is that they are planning similar attacks in the US as I type this, and our President has his head buried deeply in the sand.

My daughter left Paris a few days before the attack and she is still a nervous wreck
One of the attacks was down the street from where they stayed for 5 days

Glad he's back safe and sound!!! Let him know he's not the only world travel that's been in those types of situations. I was in Egypt when the riots started a couple years ago.  NOT a fun time. I was in Mexico when a drug war battle started next door... grenades and all. Also NOT a fun time. I feel your pain (and his). |
