There's some good ones... Punisher was looking at the one on his
bike at Mac's ride this weekend, might want to ask him about that
brand... Another brand was talked about positively in some threads
here a while back too... lots of lumens is what you want

The threads I've found are for a Cyclops bulb which fits in the I/S fairing. Headlight bucket on a non I/S isn't big enough for the associated gubbins.

I have a Cyclops that I tested and, yes, it's bright. I have two issues with it though; One, is the light spray isn't near as controlled as with the original bulb and, two, I don't trust the micro-fan on the heat sink as they often fail in benign household environments, let alone the dirty, gritty, wet, cold and hot world of a motorcycle.

So, I've experienced both and still run the Ultra's on both of my Valkyries of which one is an Interstate and the other a Standard.

  Definitely a weak link in LEDs that require them. 

New Gen LEDs have a different style heat sink. 

  Fewer moving parts...  fewer problems!!

No mods "required" as it's the same wattage as OEM on the Standard and Tourer. The Interstate is a different story and requires trimming the tabs of the H4 bulb to fit. Not a big deal. In any case I highly recommend my Smart Switch (or similar do-it-yourself mod) to remove the stress from the handlebar switches and deliver maximum voltage to the headlight for best performance and longest life. Now that's an amazing mod with any headlamp.

Not true, fits just fine.    Just make sure your wiring is arranged and tucked in tightly behind the bendable tabs in the bucket.   Also make sure the wire from the LED to the headlight output wire has slack and doesn't get pulled when you turn your bars lock to lock.

Some like a tighter beam but compared to the stock bulbs it is better and lights up the road just fine.   I even have LED tractor lamps on my Cobra Light-bar.   When all three lights are going the light is more than enough.

The pluses with the LED is; less amps, whiter light and steady.   What I mean by "steady" is, have you ever noticed going down the highway at night that road signs flicker a bit from your light?  You won't see that with the LED, it is steady and stable, even when running on a bumpy road.    The road signs seem to show up better to me with that whiter light, the reflective lettering just pops.

The whiter light also really makes you stand out better.   I've had several people comment that they could pick me out of a group of motorcycles, even during the day, just from my headlight.   It stands out and is more noticeable than the yellowish look of the majority of lights on the road.

I can attest first hand that the Silverstar Ultra and BonS' Smart Switch on a 98 Tourer provide a very bright headlight with a nice pattern.  Is there better and brighter?  I'm sure there is, but not for the same price.
