I always thought that a cow catcher would be a good thing to have on a bike. cooldude

What the heck was this guy doing.  Cow next to the road and he did not slow down.  Should have seen that hundreds of yards before contact and came to a crawl or stop.

I'll bet the cow was glad she was wearing her leathers.

Some people ride with tunnel vision. I watched a guy on a HD hit a deer, in day light, on a 4 lane divided highway. I saw the deer crossing the center and was slowing. His break light never came on. He and his passenger were very lucky. He hit it in the rear legs. The HD dipped a bit in the front then spun the deer in front of another bike. Second bike missed it only by pure luck. The deer spun to the sholder, got up dragging both rear legs and disappeared into the woods. Some people should only drive big trucks.

If you take a good look at where the calf came from it blended in amazingly well. There was a long thin brown strip of grass. Still looked like it would have been readily visible though.

Here in the dairy state,  it is not uncommon every few years to have a vehicle hit a dairy milking cow on the road.    My neighbors kid did that a few years ago at night over a crest of a hill head on,  NOT good.
