Have you ever had mashed potato's(Figure of Speech) made of Cauliflower, I made a batch of it, put some turkey slices with gravy on it, man, that was good. Seen the recipe, I had to try it, tasted like mash potato's.

As a matter of fact, yes I have! You can also put it in a food processor until it gets to a rice texture and use it for a "fried rice" dish. Just fry it up like fried rice with some scrambled egg, onion, green onion, and some snap peas. Also tried a recipe to grill cauliflower. Cut it thick like a steak and put it on the grill. Not bad but not worth the trouble. Pretty versatile.

I didn't think you were a turkey eater.

White potato have a lot starch in them, which mess with the blood sugar. Most important is when the spray potato's with herb and pesticides, it gets absorbed in to the white meat of the potato, not just on the skin. That come from the people that did the tests, even organic potato's have pesticides in them, lower of course. Far as turkey, I'll do a piece of white meat from time to time, its somewhat the healthy meat. Like I said I am a flexetarian, the do have another name for it. Point is I eat very little meat. I get vegetable protein rather than animal protein.

No herbicides or pesticides in cauliflower ? Just messing with you, but, just saying. Trying to stay healthy is a good thing, I should probably try it. [ I do believe in organics though]

You just got to wash the heck out of everything, nothing is 100%, but you got to try and keep it to a minimum. Some stuff you can't wash away, like white potato's, I guess the red and purple potato's not as much as an issue. I believe everyone points to, so called bad foods, as causing our problems. Foods like bacon, beef, pork, whole milk, butter and so on. I don't feel that the issue, is that type of food is the problem, I feel it is the chemicals they put in these food, the animals and produce, that cause out issues. The enhancers, preservatives, steroids, antibiotics, growth hormones, and so on that is causing these problems. Our families been eating those foods forever, seem the issues started when companies started to get creative with the foods. Don't know, just my opinion!!

I think I've mentioned this boring story before. Years ago I happened to pick up the wrong gal of milk. It tasted great, like milk is supposed to or used to taste. Yep, it was organic. We live in dairy country and state or fed law says the dairy herd feed will be medicated. Organic dairies have difference rules. It makes a difference. I've been reading quite a bit over the years about chemicals such as Roundup. This seems to be one of the most dangerous chemicals ever made and is being linked to Alzheimers and Autism. I recently had a conversation with an old friend that works on maintenance for Monsanto and BASF who has great concerns about these chemicals [ and GMOs] as well as their testing and reporting procedures. He also has become an organic believer.

I ride my mountain bicycle allot, try get in 20 mi. a day. So naturally I am all over the place, well to prevent boredom I cruise up and down neighborhoods. Some thing I noticed, is people get their lawns sprayed, for what ever reason. If the wind is blowing in my direction, and I don't notice they are spraying, I can smell the chemicals. In fact is tends to cause a burning sensation inside my nose, so I know that's not good. I am not a smoker, but they say you should not smoke and it is bad for you, and have made laws restricting your smoking, Right! But it is OK to put chemicals in you foods, spray chemicals on lawns that the children may play on, as long as the chemical reaction, isn't like getting hit with a 2x4, it is OK! Gee, that make allot of sense to me now!!

Seems crazy doesn't it. The chemical industry and lobby is huge. Plus, the chemical company get to control themselves. The fox is in charge of the hen house.

Kale is pretty good. Steam it with some sliced onions and mushrooms, chop it up for a salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Add sunflower seeds to both. Chop it up and add it to soups.
It does have some versatility.

Yep, kale's good. Its easy to grow and is best after a slight frost. We usually use it in beans and greens.
