Much warmer December or Don't put your bike away yet

Just Watched Weather Channel.  Said the Hi energy El Nino in the tropics will take hold for December.  Prediction is for much above normal temps in the Northern states dropping down to about the Ohio River and out to the North East.  For the states below the Ohio,  that already have warmer temps, the prediction is for above average Norms.

I do so hope they get this right.  I put my 97 Magna away on Friday, it has much less of a windscreen, but the Valkyrie tourer trooper is primed and ready to go on a minutes notice.

                                 sounds good for you,,,, since we have had our first 15" snow and the covered the streets with salt, I think Im done for the season,  yes I have a pressure washer in the garage and it is semi heated so never gets below 40 degrees but now is the time of year that I do those little enhancement changes that I have been thinking about all summer,but did not want the down time for the bike when the weather is better.... hope YOU get afew more rides in ,,,, ride safe,,,,,

I like that forecast . Previous winters I would ride if the roads are dry and in the upper 40's . Last winter was the worst for riding , I didnt ride for 3 months . My Ducati always gets put up by thanksgiving but the valk likes cold weather.

Was good riding weather in the N GA mountains yesterday. No heated gear needed.

Cloudy and mid 60's in the mountains and about 70 in metro Atlanta with no clouds and low hanging sun strobeing through the bare trees.

Rode yesterday with Punisher around the Hattiesburg, MS area.  Weatherman said it hit 80   Good roads and great temps.   Had a great time.   Thanks for taking the time to show me around Allan.

The last El Nino winter we had in the Midwest(and I've been through 59 of em), we were significantly warmer than normal. The double jet stream kept the arctic air far to the North.

There are no guarantees but I'm hopeful it has a similar effect.

Well spare a thought for us guys hanging on for dear life as we fall away on the other side of the earth, but we are already getting multiple days over 30 deg, and looking forward to many more in the high 30s and low-mid 40s for the next few months....that's Celcius. So El Nino may cut well for you.

Even when I lived up north of Chicago I never stored my M/C-it WAS ready at a moments notice. Cold and rainy as we speak and Phatt Ghurl she no stored. I'd have to look up M/C storage.    BUT-always a but-this time of year before the last fillup going to Lacasa I put in a shot of Marine Stabil. JUST in case it's more than a week or two tween rides!  RIDE SAFE.

The double jet stream was emphasized in today's report.  A higher latitude one keeping the cold to the far north and a strong one going predominently from the Pacific through Washington and westward keeping much higher temps around.  Probably to much to ask for another winter like 2011/2012 when I never had to shovel snow let alone get the snowblower out.  Tornado conditions appeared in Feb. routine 70 and some 80 degree days in March.  Farmers planted crops as early as early April.  I remember that  winter well and thought if this is global warming bring it on.  Georgia came to the midwest and east that year.

Yeah, I coulda phrased that better. Sowwy. I meant 59 of those winter things---only a few of them El Nino style.

Already put mine to bed. Just as well, as they have already salted the roads due to some ice conditions last week. When these mild winters hit, I always wish I had an old beater bike to ride.

Actually, the Valk is 15 years old and the chrome is going south, so not sure why I still pamper it.

Not knocking your decision to put the bke up, but.........it only takes one good rain to wash that salt away. I'm still riding my F6b to work. Some mornings are in the 20s. Daytime highs are still in the
40s. That's good enough with gloves, a balaclava, and the heated grips.

I don't like riding in the wet  at all,  and I'll only put up with cold when it's above 40 and dry. I did get a good ride saturday.. Maybe I'll get lucky in december...
