Feels more powerful than my previous Standard. Maxed that one at 128 (gps) on a long straight road in N Dakota in 2005

Hmmmm, OK. Usually the month and year is on the data plate on the left side by the steering neck.

It seemed as though I remembered it as being a '98. [ Mine is from 1/98] . I've been wondering if some early '98s have '97 engines. 
When I've had the valve covers off I never looked at the camshaft casting numbers, probably didn't know  about the different numbers then. Now I'm too lazy to remove one just to look at it.
The needles are also different in the 97s.

Above that she's over advancing the ign timing.
(Biggest drawback to the Valky IMHO, mechanical advance.)
We filed the key-way on the factory trigger wheel for my IS to give me right at 5* advance. (Some have reported cold start problems with the aftermarket trigger wheels, "teeth" on the wheel are too rounded.) She'd zoom to 105, by 110/112 you could feel it "flatten out", didn't wanna pull anymore.
He77, I loved it! How often are you runnin' the ton+, as opposed to crackin' the throttle through all five gears?

Maybe someone could come up with one, but, I'm not aware of one.

I'm not a fan of the aftermarket triggers, tried them.  Honda got this right. These engines do not like a lot of ignition advance. 27º is about it. Power drops off quick with more than that.
The IS ICM has a different curve rate, but, total advance remains the same. So its the best of both worlds for a Std/tour.

The reason that I asked is that my 2000 seems to turn 300 or so RPM's more than my 1999 at interstate speeds (70mph).

And since the weather turned cooler it doesn't like to start very well in the mornings.

The 99 will start easily in anything above 0 deg F.

The difference in engine speed can be tire difference or error difference in tachs or maybe ICMs.

Aftermarket triggers do tend to cause harder starting.  The more initial/base advance the more these monsters don't want to start in the cold. Some folks say they have no issues with that, but, some do. I am in the 'do' category.

When I put the I/S ICM in my 98 Tourer you could feel it pull much harder.
I still have a I/S ICM for sale.

It was still pulling like a train.  

Filled up after a short 117 mile zip about.
