Come on O2S. I'm not making kaka or weewee in my underwear. And I imagine you would classify me in your category. I would say what the Sherrif said is completely reasonable.

I think this sheriff is right on - armed citizens who knowledgeable and comfortable handling their weapons is a good thing - they just might be able to stop a mass shooting (or at least help control it) - BUT - these armed citizens need to know when to put them away and get out of the way of professional LEOs and let the LEOS do the job they are trained to do.

A good friend of mine is a local cop, and he hates the idea of rushing to a crisis situation and having to make a choice when he sees an armed person screaming that he's not the bad guy. How is he to know if he's a good guy or not?

Use the good sense God gave him, and the training he received. Maybe the good guy wont be screaming and waving a gun towards him either.

Is that a Canadian cop?  It should be easy there.  Aren't most of the good, law abiding guys disarmed already?

As police arrive, if you have time you holster your weapon. If not you place the weapon on the ground and place your hands behind your head.

I'm guessing he ran as a democrat because that's the only way he could get elected in this NY county.  I don't think my conscience would let me vote fora democrat.
