It has been a few years, but, how about the Cow Palace down in Amado, south of Tucson.  I'd even call to see it they will be open....

Well, if Dennis is wanting to join us, I would have no problem with a Parker Dam ride with a stop at one of the fine eating establishments on the Colorado.  This past summer when we stopped, it appeared that there were at least two new restaurants advertising as being "on the river" and there is the old stand-by as pictured below. We could check it out....

I do appreciate a considered location of a Parker Dam ride,  Tim    I do work until 01:00 AM on the 1st.   So I would rest up a couple hours before the meet up with you guys somewhere at what ever time.

Maybe meet in Quartzsite, at Ex 19, at one of the gas stations.  Then head on over to the Parker Dam, then on into Lake Havasu for a lunch at the London bridge. 

And maybe Meathead & Brenda could meet us for lunch 

Also we could invite the SoCal group.

Hey Dennis - I'd have no problem with a Parker Dam ride, but, since Ron was the one who started this thread, I guess a lot will depend on what he decides.  However, if the last 5 plus years is any indication as to how many suggestions we get as to where we should ride, I am guessing this will just about be it, except for a comment or two from michael k.  Actually, I am stunned, stunned I tell you, that he hasn't given us his $0.02 worth already.  But since NYD does not fall on a Tuesday, I am guessing it will be safe that he doesn't suggest Payson for a Taco Tuesday ride.  

As to Algodones, I have never been there and know nothing about it.  As the only Algodones I know of is in old Mexico, my wife never updated her passport to reflect her married name, so I don't believe she would get back into the US if we were stopped at the border.

That place is nice BUT, Fox's floating bar has a stripper pole on it.

Meathead do have any recommendation on a nice place to eat that does not have a stripper pole( I would have to poke my eyes out if Tim or you wanted to try it out) and is open on NYD?

Ron,this place would probably be a good place for lunch. But to be honest we haven't eaten there. We went there soon after they opened a couple years ago, but they were closed. I can call and find out if they are going to be open NYD. No stripper poles (we don't need any eye injuries)

Thank you Ron, for considering putting together a NYD ride to the Parker area.  I believe some of the SoCal group will also be interested in joining us, and hopefully BigMac will be able to as well.

It looks like Meathead has discovered a nice place to have lunch. Hopefully it will be open NYD.

So I will post on the SoCal board about this and have them sign up over here so you can get a head count.

I was just looking at Google Maps and the one place I was thinking of is the Sundance Saloon. Never been there but it looked like a fun spot. In any case, with the Pirate's Den, Roadrunner and Sundance all within a stone's throw of each other, we should find some place to feed us.

I think the Sundance is still shut down. They went into bankruptcy a few years ago. I noticed last year they were cleaning it up to try to sell. But I haven't checked on it for a while.

I guess I assumed they were open as they have an active web site and Facebook page.  And they looked open for business when we stopped at the Roadrunner floating bar this past summer. Just for grins I just called over there and someone answered the phone and said they were going to be open on NYD.  FWIW...

Well after WOXOF's intelligence gathering I revise my recommendation . I tried for 10 minutes to talk to a human at the Pirates Den with no luck. The Sundance is on a more picturesque part of the river, it's a bigger place also. They said reservations weren't needed.

I don't know.  To be perfectly honest, I would pay good money to see Ron ride his bike back to Phoenix after poking his eyes out.  So, I would vote for stripper poles (and all that goes with it). 

Then, again, Cheryl (my SO) might have other ideas....

for every liquor store , pharm and dentist office
you will find next door and across the street
a nice cantina with cold beer good drinks and good food          
along with all the shops , street vendors and sidewalk artist
there is music to hear ... park within a hundred yards from the gate walk through and it all right there ...

some people you just can't take anywhere
