I work with a lady who knew him since he grew up in nearby Janesville WI and she lives there as well.  I guess his kids know her kids same school, etc. when he was in WI.  She says he is a Jerk and they don't like him one bit, but his wife is very nice and they get along well.

He has a pretty overwhelming majority in the House.  Smiley I'm not sure what more you can get.

Well, I just finished reading the article and honestly don't get why the majority of previous posts are so negative. It looks like, according to the article, compromises were reached in a number of areas. You know, you give us this and we'll give you that sort of stuff. Exactly how government is supposed to work.
Are the compromises distasteful to some? Sure. That's because congress is populated with extremists on both sides of every issue. Another reason to be impressed that so much compromise was reached, in my opinion.
We have become a nation of special interests, not common interests. I am speaking about the people now, and our representatives, for the most part reflect that fact. Flame on fellas.

Any way you look at it it appears that he is already breaking his word on promises he made to get elected.

That is what got Boner in trouble and caused the lack of trust issues that ultimately caused his resignation.

This does not bode well for him as a leader.

"We don't even need a Republican Party if they're gonna do this kind of governing that we're seeing in the House. You know, just elect Democrats. Disband the Republican Party, and let the Democrats run it, because that's what's happening anyway."

Sorry, I thought the thread was about process, not policy. I disagree with almost all of the policy that leans to the left. But the process, in my opinion, reflects who we currently are as a people.
My bad.

Heard a whole bunch of true conservatives just mad as hell today all over the radio.  tickedoff Cry Was hoping this guy Ryan would fight, that is all we ask.  600 billion given away in tax breaks to all the large scale doners to both parties.  No tax breaks were earmarked for me Chuck or probably any one of you. The Fed ( which is about as federal as Federal Express ) just moved the loan index out  1/4 of a point and said this is the start.  That 1/4 point means to service the debt is more than we will spend on the military next year.  More points are going to be catastrophic.   Cry

None earmarked for me or chuck

Just a couple:
Expanded earned income credit
Expanded college tuition credits
Continued solar and wind credits
Postponement of taxes in union insurance plans

Just a few of those available to us "average" Joes.

Good or bad is a different debate.
