Rear shock absorber

I don't really care about the sound of the mufflers (been a beemer for years  ) but I know that if I'd get extra money, I wouldn't use it in expensive mufflers but in these french shock absorbers :

I've never had these (Öhlins is my first choice) but people here are quite satisfied with these EMC

I'm curious... are you dissatisfied with the Valk ride quality? I been off bikes for too long to be picky, but like most aspects of it since owning over a year now and 7000 miles later!

The OEM HONDA shock is pretty good. If there was no hydraulic preload adjuster, you might be able to convince me it would be worth it to swap it out. Unless a bike comes equipped with a jinky non-serviceable shock, you are probably wasting your money. Just my 2 cents

I am not that sophisticated a rider to understand the difference these shocks would make. After I came from my 1500 with Progressive suspension I thought I was in heaven with the 1800. I have not touched the preload and it seems to handle all that I need, but maybe I'm missing something. Do you really think that it would add that much to this bike Ledany? Could you explain the difference? I have setup suspensions on cars but this bike handles so well I would be surprised if a true improvement could be made.

So far I have changed tires, seat, hand grips, and of course put a windshield and bags on it. The tires and hand grips have been the biggest surprise in the feel, comfort and confidence in the bike. The seat windshield and bags I knew I needed to just get comfortable.
