Sometimes ya just gotta go...

Winter Springs, FL - Occasionally...

« on: December 21, 2015, 05:56:19 AM »

So, I decided to give myself a little present... early. The weather forecast looked enticing, my calendar had a string of vacancies on it, and my spirit was running a mite low... Nothing else to do but take a road trip, I thought, so off we rode...

Had a good 'un too! Wanted to ride some of the roads that will be closed to me for scooterizing most of the winter, but would be available during this brief warm spell. Southwestern Virginia, eastern Tennessee, and pretty much most of North Carolina were more than I could resist... We got home yesterday afternoon... Just made it too!

According to the weather report I saw for yesterday morning, it was 27*F in Aiken, SC, where I'd spent the night. Yep, as we departed the motel, I was wearing pretty much all the clothes and gear I'd brought along! Not bad, though, as the sky was clear, and the sun warmed things up nicely as the day progressed... It helped that I also delayed my departure until mid-morning...

When I arrived back at my own hacienda, there was a package waiting for me... Yep, the mugs Terry Nickel (t-man403) had 'auctioned' off had added some icing for the cake!!! Even though the actual Day is still a few ahead, I've already had a very Merry Christmas indeed!!! I hope all y'all have one too...

The weather has certainly been helpful in extending the normal riding season this year.  I figured you were out rolling along in the wind somewhere.  27* I hope you had your gerbings with ya.

Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Sitting here reading this, I slap myself in the forehead and think, why didn't I do something like that!!!

Sounds like a great time Bruce.   I will be spending Christmas at my daughter's place in Mississippi.   Would love to take the Valkyrie along in the Toy Hauler but, it seems that the Spousal Unit has already taken up most of the bike's space with other stuff.

The Honey Do List seems to be growing in Mississippi.   What the heck is all that fencing material doing in my RV?   Damn, I can see Christmas is going to be a long day.    My daughter still has a horse up here in KY and I've got a feeling I'm going to be hauling it's butt to Mississippi in the near future.   Shocked

Sorry I missed you as you came through God's Country ( Working for a living sucks , on the other hand I'm proud to have a decent job in these times ) . Lookin' forward to our upcoming ride. See you Saturday evening in Meridian, Mississippi my friend .
