We ride with these people on the road! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbju-4nS2-Q What kind of a self-created distraction did the lady in the Mercedes have going on, to drift like that? How can a perception of right and wrong be that skewed?

Interesting thing is, It is a very common practice in my area, I see that all the time in my area with women. Its like they don't want to scuff the tires. I think being a motorcycle rider, we pay more attention and acquire the ability to negotiate the others intention. From time to time on the board people share their experiences of, almost got clipped, nearly got hit and so on, and don't give enough credit to themselves for there riding skills. Even if they go down, they are still are here to tell us about it, so they did something right in a split second. So watch out for those wide turns!!!

Dingbat.
Not only swings too wide, but can't find the brake pedal.
I'd have been in reverse backing (if no one was behind me), before the slow mo hit.

Now back to that persons mind set, far as being accountable for their acts, and not see fault. When I take a break I will sometimes watch court TV shows, which is probably the only thing even close to the truth. And watching some of the cases, people often have that same mind set of responsibility for their actions. So it is not isolated incident.

It just appears to me that the gal in the MB doesn't know how to drive and is plain ole stupid. Some people just don't know what that big wheel is for that they sit behind.
I'd like to see what happened when the law arrived.
Not assuming any personal responsibility or ever being wrong has been an ever increasing contagious disease spreading across this country.

That's exactly why I have a Garmin Dash Cam in my vehicle.

BF, I think I have to agree with the dash cam, I think in the long run it can save you bunch of cash and most of all, hassles. Have to check and see what is out there, probably not a bad idea to get one for the bike also. Its those darn distraction devices. Thing is, if someone was walking down the street with pistol in hand, you would have everyone including your baker all over them. But a car is just as lethal, even maybe more and no one seems to mind, till its too late. Just had it on the news about these devices and people just walking in front of cars, they had one walk off a cliff and one just fall into the subway tracks. Really SAD!!

I think a major factor these days, is the manufactures build cars to be entertainment centers, rather than vehicles of necessities. Specially with women, being soccer Mom's and trying to get things done in a certain amount of time. But people have to understand these vehicles and as much weapons as they are convenience, and have to be accountable for their actions. But some people just don't get the Memo.

You nailed it. On a related note, I was at the local Harley dealer when the project Rushmore bikes came out, I asked if they can be ordered without the infotainment system. He asked why. I said I don't want to answer phone calls or listen to music or use navigation while I'm riding. I've got plenty of songs stuck in my head when I ride, I ride to get work, etc off my mind so I don't want phone calls and I use paper maps. Save the thousands of dollars and order one without...he said no, not possible, besides, "I'd never sell it in the future because no one would want it without it. Said buh-bye and bought a 17 year old Valk...couldn't be happier.
