Been there too.  cooldude  There's a little cafe just below that balancing rock.  I don't know why I love riding in hot, desolate Southwestern moonscapes but I do.  Could be I need to thaw out after our eternal winters.

Back in the Shadow days.  If in Mexican Hat, respect the sundown.

Cow Canyon Trading Post, Kissing Rocks, Japanese Jap Bikes (Yapan!  Yapan!) and a cool old Buick Eight.  Never mind the narratation, the sun was deliriously hot!   coolsmiley

Just southwest of Mexican Hat. The "Forrest Gump Point".

Just north of Mexican Hat Utah, Goosenecks State park. A great place to pitch a tent for the night. You can camp right next to the gorge edge just be sure the wind doesn't blow you over at night.

Just northeast of Mexican Hat, the Moki Dugway pass up the escarpment. Utah is a great place to ride for the roads and the views.

I've watched so many John Ford movies and others featuring Monument Valley it sounds weird with a motorcycle soundtrack instead of the klippity klop of horses. This is a beautiful place I hope to visit one day but I just may never return back to NJ.

I too am partial to the dessert rides. I have been to Big Bend National park twice and will probably go again this summer.  Last year Jim Lambros and I made a 4500 mile excursion through most of the western states.  I liked the huge open territory of Utah the best.

Arches National Park is a sight to behold.

Good on you for Mulie point Dan. I tried to ride out there but the car tire and slab rock (dips roll bike) didn't mix well.
