I saw that one a while back... one of his better episodes.

Definitely worth a second watch!   cooldude

Wish they'd train a larger breed to take out the forest rats.

Thanks I really liked that.

I have a Yorkie and he's a good dog, but put a squirrel or rat around him and he goes nuts. If he starts smelling a spot around the house or near some enclosed area more times than not its a rat. Hes proved to be a good hunter and has helped me eliminate a few. Yorkie's were originally bred as rat dogs to go down into holes and get them. He indeed lives up to his past breeding. I have had cats that hunt rats but my Yorkie seems much more intent on the hunt than cats.

One night I opened the back door to let my Yorkie out and all of a sudden he goes shooting out the door runs across the yard and takes a flying leap on to the back of a possum. Starts to bite him on the back of the neck before I stopped him. Hes only 13 pounds but really fiesty and a really good dog.

sounds like a very nice breed of dog to have around.  Although I don't get rats, I usually get 1-2 mice in the house and am sure the terrier would find them out and take care of them.

Do they take care of snakes as well?

2 things I hate is mice and snakes, both of which I have had issues with in the house in 2015.

Mice taken care of using mouse traps with peanut butter and the darn 2 foot snake got under the siding of my house sitting on top of my dryer vent tubing in the basement right above my head where the freezer is kept.  Scared the crap outta me looking up 2-3 feet above me just laying there when getting food out of freezer.  At first thought it was a fake snake since never had one in the house before - darn things MOVE fast.

He would probably go after snakes but have had a good laugh with him. He was in the yard and smelling around and there was a stick that I thought it was a snake and he did too all of a sudden he must have touched it and it moved. I had never seen anything like it before, It looked like he got launched into the air. It was instantaneous and quick His reflexes are very good.

Your experience is not one I would want either and they are pretty quick when they want to be  Shocked

When I was a kid I would go to the dump every time they bulldozed it up with my .22, it was great target practice shooting the running rats.

Saw this years ago. Great article and the dogs have a ball.
I lived off a big field and had rats in the shed. I'd put out some pnut butter and shoot them from the bathroom. One day the landlord noticed the holes in the screen and inquired.
We were there in the bathroom till midnight drinking beer and shooting rats. Good times.

Grizwold not only keeps the deer away...

... the damn ground hogs that were under my pole barn are long gone, too   Wink

Good boy, Griz  cooldude

Terriers are a special breed, personality plus, inquisitive, intelligent, territorial, loyal, loving, protective.

American Hairless just became AKC recognized

Thanks 'rado!
He is a happy boy, spoiled!

He had a bit of a rough spell before we got  him and is not 100% social.
He is well behaved but gets nervous when a lot of people are around and has growled at a couple of VRCC wives that get too close. Seems to have trust issues regarding females.
Just need to keep an eye on him with strangers nearby. Roll Eyes

We'll keep him!
Critters seem to know he's here and stay away - that's a good thing  cooldude

That is a pretty dog. I think after my labs are gone, 7 and 6 years old now and a blue heeler mutt that is 10, I'm going to get an english bulldog. Of course my wife wants a french bulldog but I dont want a 3 thousand dollar dog.
