Thought somebody might be interested in seeing some gun pics. We recently started doing Duracoat and Cerakote. The 45 is a para LDA in burnt bronze and sniper grey. The KelTec is a P11 in burnt bronze and factory nickel boron with an after market trigger.

The 30 carbine is my first (and only) digital camo job done in Duracoat. I personally think Duracoat is more appropriate for rifles and shotguns and Cerakote is more appropriate for handguns but that info is worth exactly what you paid for it.  Grin

My opinion maybe influenced by Cerakote's need to be baked while Duracoat is happy with air drying. Until I build a dedicated oven I can only bake smaller firearms.

Nice work.  cooldude

I'm curious, is that a later Universal carbine (metal hand guard)?  Most of us would not take our WWII models from Inland or Saginaw Steering Gear (or others) and do that to them (as collectors).  Not that an M1 carbine all that a big deal as a collector.

Hey honey, what's in the oven, I'm hungry.

Ah, well, it's roast of Ruger Redhawk.

Yep. It's a universal. Not a great gun, no great value and known to have cracking and breaking operating slides like this one did. Also known for firing out of battery but this one seems to be OK in that regard. The slide handle was broken out and completely missing as was part of the channel the bolt cam acts on. I assumed firing out of battery had caused the problem when I bought and was glad to learn it hadn't. I fabricated new metal and welded it in. I've probably put 200 rounds through it since them. It's a fun gun and OK for home defense but certainly not the quality of the originals. The good thing about it was the $100 or so I paid for it.
