It might be tough to sing when his voice box is disconnected from his body. Some people are realy naive or just plain stupid or both.

I'd guess he's in the both category.

Most people will write him off as a whack job, but it makes one wonder what goes on, in his thought process.

I don't wonder about his thought process. Seems pretty cut and dried to me.

Is he overly naive, or even delusional? I certainly believe he is...but hey, who's to judge? If it's not just a publicity stunt and he honestly believes in what he is doing and isn't endangering anyone else, I say all the credit to him for standing by his own convictions and doing something he thinks is positive.

“I’m no sort of hero, but I do believe in the power of this.” True Muslims have never coexisted with anyone, its not their religion its not their belief. Unlike the Jewish or Christian religion. If you are a surface type of person then you will try or endorse surface ideas. Instead of understanding and wisdom it is replaced by idiocy the series or show Jackass is a good example of this thinking.

People are pretty judgmental. For the impression I get, from reading some of the threads past and present, there are people not much different than him. Just because someone is different then you, it doesn't make him bad or defective. The way I see it, this guy has more spine and anyone on this board, he is waking into a bunch world killers armed with a guitar, guy has got some real balls. Maybe not the best solution I have ever seen, but he's not just sitting on his ass and complaining and pointing fingers. I have seen people do some real weird sh*t in my life, and have ended up with some real positive results. Just my Opinion!!

Dreamaker, your post made me wonder about whatever happened to that Chinese who stopped the tanks in Tiananmen Square in 1989. He has disappeared.
At least he did a more rational thing and THAT took courage, unlike the subject of this post.

Look, I understand what its like to be different, and when I see people picked on of a sort, it bothers me. Solo! What you appear to be saying, in your reply, is putting issues on a balance and showing which has more weight, Its all ones opinions, that is all. Who cares who is the tougher dog is, at least he is trying. Is what this guy is doing, the best choice for the solution for peace, probably not, in my opinion. Question Do you know what this religion teaches what it stands for and how long we have been battling it in US history Last question if a group will kill people, do acts of terror, maim people destroy peoples lives and is not afraid of death but actually welcomes it, what will a concert do and wouldn't the one doing it be putting himself in harms way for no real good reason not knowing the facts and how truly ingrained this is? Its not a case of different with the same values. Its different with different values on life itself. Don't think you have the understanding of their values, don't make the mistake as this musician does and transpose your feelings, values, and ideals on them.

Wayne, Through a friend of mine at Miami U I found out that the tank man was banned from China and emigrated to Canada where he stayed for several years. He was allowed to return to China after several years when most of the turmoil died down. He is working as a tour guide for English speaking tourist and was my friend's guide while he was there.

We are all Philosophers, we are all Poets, and we all, always have the right answer to every situation. So, why is our country such train wreck, and why is our future circling the toilet bowl, we all have the right answers. I am not applauding his choice, I am applauding his backbone to give it all up for peace, I applaud him for being stand alone, when everyone is just pointing fingers at him. I never said it was the right move, If I did, I stand corrected.

I would suggest he consider a safer method of addressing the problem. I hadn't planned on revealing this, but I have prayed that Islamic terrorists somehow realize their evil barbarity and have a change of heart and mind. Could be this folk singer is the answer to my prayers and will bring this about, but I'm guessing he is not. I realize a solution is beyond me, and all the great philosophers (and musicians) of mankind.
