The edge of the storm came through my corner of South Carolina.

We have power, and food and a dry stall for the old horse  Smiley ... My
Aunt Jean and Uncle Dan still have power over in Greenville...

A lot of stuff will melt today when it gets 40, but since it will be 23 or so tonight,
there will be black ice and car crashes and slip-falls tomorrow...

Just guessing (haven't been out there yet) 4 to 6 inches fell here in central Kentucky.   Waiting to make sure it's blown over before I go out to clear the driveways.    Power stayed on, no problems here.

Anyone desiring experience with a snow blower, please chime in and let me know when you're arriving.

finally going to be above freezing tomarrow so I will open the garage door and uncover the bike ,unplug the tender and fire it up, the bike that is,, I miss that sound of it running ....... was talking to my brother yesterday and we both are already very tired of this winter, even though it has not been to bad here, but we still, remember last early May when there was a week break and the weather south in Georgia and Tenn. looked good so we packed the bikes and headed out.......What a great trip..... we will be watching again and are ready to RIDE!!!!!!!!

Ran the blower for hours last night, and looking out my windows this morning, it doesn't look like was ever out there.

No power outage.  Of course, after you go out and buy the best generator you can find, you don't need it.

My problem is, I didn't buy a new snow flinger.

At least it's light and fluffy snow..... and only blowing 25 knots.

2 power flickers North of Raleigh last evening, worked at home yesterday (along with wife). May get some clothes on to do the usual saturday chore of taking the trash / recycling out. Probably go grocery shopping tomorrow afternoon. Got the laundry going now.

Hello all, checking in from good ole Brick,NJ.

It's been a wonderful day here (sarcasm icon)...we've had about 2 feet of this white crap and it's still coming down though we have had a few lulls. The winds have made 3-4' drifts and in it all is a mix of layers of nice powder and heavy wet snow. The plows did make it through the neighborhood and made nice walls of it all at the bottom of the driveway which were 4' wide and almost 3' high, but my trusty Little Red Honda blower handled it like a true champion.

I was out for 5 hours this morning doing my driveway and 2 of my neighbors and tonight I was out for another 3 hours doing 2 other neighbors who are seniors and old friends since childhood. Seniors...thats funny now that I think of it, I'm 50 and they are parents of kids I grew up with.

Lucky for us we haven't lost power but a few neighborhoods around us have. My daughter has a friend staying over tonight because they lost their power last night but we're not able to get out of their neighborhood because the plow didn't come through until this afternoon. She made it over just in time for dinner, Ziti and meatballs.

Well the stuff is still falling so I'll be back out in the AM, I'm guessing there should be another 4-6 on the ground, the good news is it should be a sunny day and above freezing so we should get a good melt during the day but refreeze over night.

There has been quite a bit of flooding in some areas of NJ, some of the same areas hit a couple years ago from Sandy.

Be well all,

Mike

a foot in the middle of the driveway
18" at the sides and of course more where our plow pushes it while clearing the road

Street is clean to blacktop  This town highway dept is tops !

Around lunchtime I will cross the river and see how mom made out
I will bring the blower in case the fellow that is "supposed" to do her house only did the driveway   I think she will have about 18 inches all the way across her property being just a few mile north of the NJ line

Yup cold here in Florida 40 had to turn on the heat and the compressor to air the wife's tires since the cold air dropped the pressures to below minimum. Riding the bike to church this morning is going to be a cool proposition.

     Good morning all,
I hope and am glad that everybody is OK!
Up here in NE Ohio, we are loving Mr. El Ninoand absolutely no effects from the coastal storm(s)! Since 1st of the year temps have been about avg. Snow fall is well below avg. Month of December was incredibly warm, some days historical! No storm has dropped more than an inch or two of snow or lasted for any length of time. After last Winter, we appreciate this.....so far. As I sip my coffee it is 20 and sunny! Old saying in this neck of the woods, on the weather, "wait 20 minutes, it will change".
I work for the local municipality. I too benefit $$$ from the wintery weather. Though I do not rely/plan on it. I usually take $ half the time and comp the time the other half. Makes for extra riding time through out the nice times of the year.
Take care everybody and stay safe and warm.
