It was only a matter of time.
You can get away with a sit in protest.
You can't get away with an armed takeover.
Not forever, anyway.

Here we go. The armchair experts will chime in without knowing ANY of the facts as to what happened regarding the shooting.

History has shown time after time that you can only screw with the FBI for so long..............................and then they'll kill your ass.

The locals warned them to pack up and go back to where they came from; the folks who live in that part of Oregon are pretty no nonsense types.  They were warned and were foolish enough to ignore the wisdom of the local ranchers, farmers, and residents.  They were not welcome and should have respected the local opinions.  Instead they tried to impose their will and beliefs on a citizenry that did not want them there.  The local sheriff tried to resolve it with diplomacy and reasonable understanding that they may not get the results that they hoped for and to disperse peacefully.  The majority of the country believed them to be loons and pretty much ignored them after the first couple of weeks passed.  Fringe extremists rarely last long when they go up against the Feds.  It doesn't matter if you are progressive or regressive in your opinions; they'll kill you easy and then go drink beer without a regret.
I've been a law-abiding person for my entire life.  I've not liked many laws, but I was taught to respect and obey them.  America is a nation where respect for the rule of law is paramount in keeping us away from chaos in the streets of cities or even in the wide open spaces of eastern Oregon.                    Bitch and moan all you want, but argue the law in the courts and sort it out in time is the way.

Those fools got what they deserved and asked for, a confrontation with John Law; and now they'll pay for it in jail time, economic ruin and in one case, by being put in the ground.  Stupid men, foolish men; now there is one dead and a family lost. Lips Sealed

This does not seem to be the case when it comes to politicians.

It has been my observation over several incidents both in the news and seeing them first hand that when an officer of the law orders someone to put down their weapon and they don't comply, they tend to get shot.   No, I am not surprised at all.  crazy2

Watched one of the press conferences today. The most poignant moment being when the local Sheriff spoke. The man was clearly emotional about the entire episode; his voice breaking up several times and having to pause to collect himself. Tragedy that he tried his best to avoid.

When do we import all the "local" union members and general stand-arounds to hold the signs and disrupt, loot and burn that fair burg?
Whats the BS slogan gonna be? "I'm armed, don't shoot"?
