Do grab bars just un bolt from the top?

I'm just wondering if the grab bars just unbolt from the top or if nuts underneath or any other hardware?  I want to make a bracket for top case or backrest or a combination.. it's winter here so  not much garage time...

It was a while ago when I went to the covers and no grab rails. I believe you simply unbolt from the top and the threaded bits are part of the frame underneath and stay put.
