Kind of wish I didn't now.  The comments were pretty crude also.

I guess that explains the impetus for this warning sign:

"Dumbass" and "kids" seem to go hand in hand. Always has or have we forgotten?
Sorry they lost their lives and I can't begin to imagine what their parents are feeling right now.

I think we overemphasize intelligence when calculating the value of a person.  I wish character were valued more highly, and I wish more were willing to invest in developing the character of those within their influence.

“Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

So what is the purpose of drinking racing fluid?

Was it a dare? Supposed to get you high?  Make you go faster?

40 or so years ago a guy in my town drank about 1/2 can of STP oil treatment on a dare from one of his "friends".
He was a wild kid and was well known by the police, mainly for "hot rodding", speeding, and such. Nothing like burglary, vandalism,...

Supposedly a bit after drinking the STP he started going nuts. Shot a few holes in his truck with his 357.
Not sure if he was taken to a hospital that night, but he did survive.

He must have seen too many of those Mario Andretti commercials.  Smiley

Did some googling, and it seems the racing fuel they were mixing with their Mountain Dew is almost 100% methanol.

Pretty stupid to drink methanol, but guess they were wanting to get drunk...

Heard a guy on the radio the other day talking about a case where a kid choked to death on a marshmallow and now the family wanted to start some awareness campaign and warning labels.  He was saying now I feel for the family, but if you're taken out by a marshmallow, then maybe it just wasn't meant to be.  If not a marshmallow, it probably would have been something else like a rubber band or a bubblewrap or something.

We as young teenagers use to breath heavy in/out and then hold our breath while leaning up against a tree while others push in our chest during school recess.  I tried it saying NO way can I pass out from this being bigger/stronger than the rest of the kids, and some do pass out,  which I did for about 3-4 minutes before coming to.

Who knows if after passing out falling to the ground will one awaken???  Could happen?

Kids do the dumbest stuff, just like as a VERY young lad I didn't believe my older brother daring me for a buck to press my tongue for 10 seconds on our metal clothes line pole in the cold WI winter.  I did it, earned my buck, but was crying like a baby ripping off my tongue, what was left of it, bleeding horribly.

Heck, we dared our uncle growing up after we went fishing for a quarter to eat our last nightcrawler which he did.  He could have choked on it and died??  Shocked
