Update: In the last couple of days I have removed the seat (fun time as cable was detached from key unit), removed and drained the fuel tank, removed the airbox (that was fun and I'll bet way more fun putting it back in), removed the 6 intake manifolds (stuffed rags into the intake ports), removed the cables and removed all the vacuum tubing and hoses and drained the carbs.  What fun I am having!  I was unable to remove the carb assembly so I referred to the service manual and found I have to remove the rear upper engine mount.  I think that will be easier than removing that irritating plastic radiator shroud.  I will finish removal of the carbs tomorrow.  Question??? How deep do I go into the carbs?  I am thinking just clean all the jets, clean the needle and seat, blow them out with air and reassemble.  Is this correct or do I need to do a major disassembly?  Carb throats look very clean. I pulled a couple of the high speed needles and they are pretty clean also. Suggestions please!

Thanks

Mine required a complete tear-down to get it running right.  But To start with, I sprayed carb cleaner in all the pathways I could get into (including the choke circuit).  That worked for a while...but again...it wasn't running right.  After the complete tear down...it was MUCH better.
