Now, there's a frightening idea.   Balance in the court (what little is still remaining) would be thrown to the far left.   Most likely an idea Progressives/Liberals will unite behind.

Clinton added that she believes the Supreme Court is "heading in the wrong direction" due to the right-leaning justices President George W. Bush appointed.

I have been pretty amazed by some of the Supreme Courts decisions lately. Took quite a bit of thought and planning to come up with these. Especially the one where O care is a tax, so I am not surprised that Clinton would want them out of there. Congress could defeat O care on this one issue if it really wanted to.

It's all about the redistribution of wealth! Kill the incentive of the people who work hard, want to get ahead, and make a comfortable life for their family, and reward the people who do not........working hard and trying to get ahead is what built this country, but those ideals are slowly fading.....

It seems politicians don't understand the SC. First: Obama isn't a lawyer due to having been disbarred. 2nd: The justices are SUPPOSE to interpret the constitution. Political leanings should never be part of interpretation. Sadly it does though. 3rd: She wants his endorsement so his appointment would be a bribe for that appointment. More corruption at the highest level of our nation.

There's no requirement that a SCOTUS appointee be a lawyer. In fact, there's no legal requirements of anything to be appointed to the SCOTUS.

QuoteThe Constitution does not specify qualifications for Justices such as age, education, profession, or native-born citizenship. A Justice does not have to be a lawyer or a law school graduate, but all Justices have been trained in the law. Many of the 18th and 19th century Justices studied law under a mentor because there were few law schools in the country.

Obummer is not smart nor qualified enough to be on the Supreme Court.  Oh wait,  he is the President,  my bad?   >:(

He should give speeches more like this one on the movie Air Force One instead of the wishy washy speeches he gives all the time:

More than that, she wants (desperately needs) him to sit on the AG on her little pending security problem.

And think about it, even a lefty candidate cannot afford to alienate any center voters, so suggesting this is an act of desperation.

Besides, if she gets in, first she has to appoint Bill to the SCOTUS.  :2funny: :crazy2:

Pete

I would be willing to submit him and her for Kang-ger-roo court. That is all either one is capable of.

On second thought that may be a stretch. So lets try criminal court and see how that works out.

PAVALKER

She's blowing a smoke screen.... She actually wants to give that position to Bill to keep him away from the gals that will bring even worse problems to her presidency (thinking she is getting back to the White House).

Isn't part of the reason for becoming president to install cabinet members, judges, etc. of your choosing to steer the country the direction you want ?

Pappy!

Maybe true in general, Meathead, but in this case I am thinking she wants his backing for the democratic nomination.......and a possible get out of jail free card.

Rams

The problem is for conservatives, it's a real possibility.

Actually, it's a problem for everyone, some just don't or won't recognize it, until it's too late.

I have little sympathy for someone instrumental in pulling off the Saturday Night Massacre.

At least Hillary learns. She just destroyed the evidence in her emails.  Nixon's problem was that he did not destroy the tapes.  He should have, then he could have denied, denied, denied, just like Hillary.

Appointing new Justices to the Supreme Court only happens when
1) a current Justice  dies
2) a current Justice  decides to retire

Then the President can select their candidate (usually with the recommendation of some lawyers group), and then they get confirmed by the Senate.

That's from the Constitution side..

Current Justices and president and members of Congress will of course make it ... interesting.
