Who cares?

I certainly wouldn't trade how we grew up for today's youth.

All this PC crap and everyone worrying about this being hurtful or that being dangerous.

All the fun they have today is with a screen.

I'm thinking, we had REAL fun.

And, we owe it to the "Greatest Generation" that sacrificed so much for us.

O2S, I am a year behind you.  Never thought I would hit the 70 mark when I was in my 20's.  Figured I would be under ground by now.   I workout with weights 4 days a week and walk 10-12 miles a week, used to run but knees said no more.   I do this so I can ride my Valk and enjoy the world I live in.  And yes, do mow my own yard, during the summer, trim trees with a chainsaw, and when absolutely necessary pull weeds.

Getting old is not good, getting older is a necessity.

I wouldn't trade the way I was brought up either. I grew up with nothing and my dad worked 2 jobs just to put food on the table. I think my generation worked our way through school, and worked for what we have. We have respect for anyone that shows the same and believe in common sense. Spent my years being outside, not on the couch. Played army and no one thought we were violent. Took an ass whompin when we screwed up and didn't call the cops. I believe in common sense. We learned in school and WE HAD TO ACTUALLY PASS TO GRADUATE or play sports. Took pride in our family, ourselves, and our community. What went wrong? Us...

Boy, you've described my upbringing to a tee - and I couldn't have been happier as a youngster. I found this posted on my eldest (29) daughter's Facebook page yesterday, and I must say it makes me feel good to see things like this, confirming what we have always known that the values my wife and I grew up with have been appropriately passed on to her and her sister Smiley
