I took a 600 mile trip this summer, which was great but I decided to enhance the bike a bit for a longer trip next summer.  I'd be interested to see what other board members are doing to their bikes this winter.  Here's what I added:

I had the 8" Gustafsson windscreen, but decided that wasn't doing it.  So I added the Gustaffson "touring screen" which is wider and taller (15").

Also added a brakeaway cruise control, highway pegs, the OEM bags and of course an RDL seat.

When the OEM tires wear out, I will add the Michelin PR4's.

Am especially anxious to see how well the windscreen and the brakeaway cruise control work.  Unfortunately have to wait a couple of months until this miserable Iowa weather improves.

I sure would like to try a Russell seat... I would hope the looks of it grew on me    ...

Can't seem to get these photos to post.  I added [IMG] before and after the photobucket link but it doesn't come through.  I didn't know which of the 4 links to select. I selected the IMG, but there's also 'direct' and HTML and email/IM.  Any suggestions as what I'm doing wrong?  Thanks.

there's a "share" link on your photobucket page... click on that and it copies an
already-formatted-with-IMG string into your paste buffer... you can just
past that into your post, and it will do right... try it a few more times on your
thread here, you'll see...

Hey can you post some different angles of the brakeaway cruise control? I want to get one for my bike and I'm wondering how it mounts with the chrome curve right at the control interface with the starter. Thanks!

powder coated the timing chain cover

Also, USB charger, and a Rostra electronic cruise control. I am done.  Just waiting for spring to try out my cruise control and seat.

If global warming is happening...why is it so cold up here?

OK I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow.  Finally figured out how to post the photos.  I discovered that you have to copy and paste the "direct" URL option on photobucket, not the IMG option.  Then you have to put the iMG tags before and after the URL.  What a hassle!

Here is one view of the brakeaway cruise control:

Here's a couple of shots of the Gustafsson touring 15" screen:

The Highway pegs:

And my favorite favorite add-on, the RDL seat:

I thought about the Rostra electronic cruise control but was afraid I'd have trouble installing it, or finding someone who could.  I'm hoping the brakeaway will suffice.

Mike,
Noticing the bags on your bike.  Are they removeable without a brack showing?  Thanks!  EJ

OK, here they are.  The thing I like about this product as opposed to the throttle locks is that, the cruise disengages when the brake lever is applied.  Very handy in an emergency situation.  It's a little pricey, but seems very well engineered and manufactured. Can't wait to try it out.

Perfect pictures of the cruise control man. Must be one of those fancy cameras.  8) It looks like it sits on there fine with no modifications to the grip. I can't wait to get one too. Your bike looks sweet with that seat, now you just need a TV in front and your lazyboy will be complete!

Mark,
I had the brakeaway on my VTX 1800C.  It worked great.  Adding one to my Valkyrie soon.  What brand of leather bags do you have on your bike?  Are they removeable?  If so, is there a clearly visible mounting bracket behind them?  I had boss bags on my VTX that popped on and off and could carry in like luggage.  Working with a local custom bike shop to fashing a bracket that will work.  Yours seem to be attached at to the mounts on the passenger hand rails and maybe down below?
Thanks,
EJ

Thanks Andy.  It is a fancy camera.  Canon 5DM3.  Takes great photos.  I'm working on the TV angle.  Maybe next year . . .

EJ, The bags are the Honda OEM bags.  No they are not removable.  The darn things turned out to be pretty expensive.  There are cheaper options out there but I'm not sure how you would attach them.  The bags cost $599.  the mounting brackets were $149.  Initially I thought that was all I needed.  Then discovered that you also have to buy saddlebag stays for another $240.  So essentially 1K just for plain leather bags.  Almost makes a guy want to pay the extra for the corbin bags.  I didn't have to pay quite that much because my dealer had a new years special for 20% off, so it was a little less painful.
