Is there anyone that is not going to InZane that would like to have one or more of these? We sold challenge coins at InZane last year although we did not promote them very well. They seem to have taken off, at least around the circle that I run in and also in Europe. I will be sending a couple hundred of them to our European friends for their InZane. The plan is to get as many of these into the hands of the VRCC members as possible without causing a huge headache. These will be available for sale at Inzane XVI for $10.00 each. My buddy Deadpan drilled a hole in one to put on his key ring.
Those that are planning to attend shouldn't have any issue obtaining one. The problem is for those that would like to have one and are not planing on attending. It would be great to have one of your friends that is going to pick one up for you. At some point I may be willing to ship these, but I doubt that will happen before InZane. I am not sure what the shipping cost would be at this point in time. I only have a few of last years design left. I can certainly have more of them made if there is enough interest in them.

I would personally think that most would like to collect both styles. I carry one always. According to the official challenge coins rules, that you can read here, http://www.coinforce.com/challenge-coin-rules.htm you don't want to be caught without one! Either last years silver coin, or this years anniversary coin are acceptable in any challenge. These challenge coins are not only meant for the drinkers, the non drinkers could challenge for ice cream, pie, soda, etc. They are heavy weight, heirloom quality coins and not a cheap trinket.
For any of you that are not going to be attending InZane but are going to be attending Gatherin' of the Fools, reply to this thread and I will bring you one for the same $10.00.  cooldude

The last line in the official rules

"A coin is a coin"

I would like to buy a Valkyrie coin (silver one).  However, I already carry my Special Ops coin.  I do not plan on packing two.

I got one! Yep, a very special friend of mine gave me one last September at the rides I visited out in Colorado... It's a really nice coin, good weight, attractive facing, and a truly good memory of how I came by it... I always carry it with me... in my pocket right now!

Yep.  Here's a more comprehensive history and rules of use:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin

Anything that makes it easier to carry invalidates it.  Like a keychain, or if you drill a hole in it.  OK to carry it in a pouch.  Both of mine are in separate pockets.  Got challenged at the last gathering at the Golden Corral.  Unfortunately the challenger didn't pay up when he lost.  But he got a pass because it was the Golden Corral - no drinks available for purchase.

I didn't know the following from the above link.  Has significance for me because I was a weapons mechanic, loaded BUFFs with bomb strings at U-Tapao, and was asked to volunteer for tail gunner duty.  I declined.

"One widely known challenge coin in the United States Air Force was the "Bull Dog" challenge coin that was exclusive to B-52 enlisted tail gunners. Since the B-52 gunner position was phased out in 1991, this famous challenge coin has become rarer.

"This coin was presented to gunners upon graduation from their Air Force technical training and their entry into the "Gunners Association". In the earlier days of bombers, a bean or a nugget was used. The coin represents the attributes of strength and courage as reflected in the Bulldog, the gunner's official mascot. The coin was also given to certain "honorary gunners", usually commanders and leaders who portrayed the spirit of the bulldog."

FYI
The flip side of the year's coin is a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the Valkyrie.
The first Valkyries hit the roads in 1996.

This is great, I do like the anniversary coin; however, to cut down on the cost of a new cast every year I would vote for creating a casting that would be used/carried by all no matter what the occasion. Our military coins run about $6.00 each, but, we buy bulk and do not change the casting. I will try to obtain two coins from someone who is attending Inzane this year, I would've snapped up two or more at Spearfish for sure but did not hear a word of these coins. This is a great thing for the Club.

Thanks for your thoughts Bill.  We won't make a different coin every year.  This was a special case because of the anniversary.  Last year's coin will be the one offered in future years.  Thus, the one time produced anniversary coin will be a true collectible!!

I sold the first 14 anniversary coins on a ride with some of the locals yesterday. Every one thought they turned out great. Be careful trying to challenge any of the Colorado Riders. I am going to do my best to try and get these to anyone who wants one.  cooldude

The Vaklorado several times a year. Would work best
to send 1 to me through Seth.

We were at Spearfish but didn't know they were available. Definitely want one of them as well at the 50th that I'll be sure to buy at InZane this year!
How can I get one of the originals, short of black market dealings with current holders?  coolsmiley

I KNOW they were being sold at Spearfish last year as I was helping Lori at the table they were being offered for sale.  cooldude And I purchased 2 of them last year and if there are any left of the new issue I'll be In for two of the new ones.  Wink I look around my Lacasa and I am amazed at the sheer amount of Valkyrie/Inzane stuff I have purchased!  2funny  DEFINITELY not a complaint-I DO like to represent!  coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.
