I changed the front tire and now my speedometer will not work after .2 miles.
I made sure I put the cable in front of the stop on the fork.
I took the speedo cable out and it is not broke and I lube it while it was out.

The wheel end I made sure it was in the gap and the top end is still square.
I have the cable placed thru both brackets that holds the  cable.

Any help would be appreciated to solve this problem.

Try taking the cable off the speedo, jack the front wheel up and turn it to see if the interior cable turns.

If it does, you'll know the cable bottom and gear housing are right.

Unless it is really not put back together right, it might start working again if
you run it around all the way to zero... all the way around past zero and back again.

I've somehow jiggered mine up once or twice when resetting at
the gas pump only to look down and see that it isn't counting up
the miles until I have to start pushing... spinning it around and resetting
it to zero has got it going again for me...

I'm glad you mentioned that hubcapsc because I've experienced that as well after filling up and not resetting it properly!

Yeah, Mike, you're right on that.

I'm in the habit of resetting the trip meter every time I gas up, which I believe most do.

The odometer does get "stuck" if you're not careful to reset it correctly.

Why is it that the most simplest of things throws a curve into the mix???

THANK YOU FOR THE SOLUTION

I reset the trip reading and now I have my speedo back in working order.

Really cheap repair.

Actually it's supposed to go behind the stop on the fork.
