I bought this beauty from PTGB about 1 1/2 years ago.
She was a looker, loaded with chrome, including the front end and wheel, a sassy paint job, and some nice touches.

So, never satisfied to leave well enough alone, the mods began, changed out the exhaust for a set of stockers with triple tips ,put on the Hondaline full windshield, halogen bulb in the headlight, pulsating led's in the rear,Cree running lights, Kuryakyn grips and breakaway cruise control,Uniq Cycle speakers with bluetooth, peg lowering kit with new highway pegs,Ultimate seat w/backrest,velocity stacks and a Stebel horn.

Probably a few things I forgot, but she runs strong and draws some nice comments. It's been a fun time and there are a few more upgrades I'd like to make to her, such as a seat rail and maybe forward controls. It's a sickness, but a good sickness I know, luckily I have a supportive bed warmer so all is well on the home front. "Happy wife, happy life.!"

the top pic vs. the bottom ones, did you repaint the blue, or trick of camera?
that bottom one is an incredibly deep blue

No, it's not a repaint. I used a clay bar on the paint ,&  hit it with some Mequairs caranuba wax.
I think the fact that my pictures were taken outside (with my I phone) as opposed to the first picture which was indoor at Petes, might explain the variation in the shades of blue. I used the built in enhancement capability of my photo program as well, to get the sharpest quality picture as I could.

I ended up painting the inside of my windshield behind the wind shield bag, black. To hard to keep the clear shield clean. Could always see every bug that got caught back there... Nice looking bike.... cooldude

Guys

Thanks for the supportive comments.

Need to clarify one thing; I wish the shop (first picture) was mine. It is the shop of the previous owner, who I bought the bike from.  When I was contemplating purchasing it, this is one of the photos he sent me. I used it to show what the bike looked like when I first received it, before I started  with my changes.

The last 2 photos are  recent ones I took at my house.

We ALL wish we had a shop like PTGB.  cooldude For those that haven't seen it before, he did a thread a few years back going thru the build of his shop. It's worth the search.  Smiley

Actually those are LED's that are also on the radiator, these are wired to come on with the ignition and act as running lights all the time.

spotless and sharp - wow.

I always liked darker/deeper blues in any vehicle ever owned, really POPS out when cleaned up.  I also like the deep maroon red on the I/S model that has mostly a nice red color with very little black mixed in to break it up some.

I'm odd that way, I almost always buy vehicles with deep/darker reds, blues, and greens or even dark gray metallic finishes.  Never been a fan of lighter colors like silver although silver looks cleaner longer or should I say not as dirty (especially like all black).  My all black I/S looks great when cleaned up, but never lasts very long like 2-3 weeks before it shows it ugly, dirty side with dust collecting and bugs and the sparkle WOw factor doesn't last as long.

So then, it's safe to assume the leds are the correct colors (amber front, red back) and would you know where they are available?

THX in advance.

Very nice..... we all like to get a nice bike and then do little things or ALOT of things to make it our own... When we walk out of a beer stop to the parking lot and there is a crowd by
a group of bikes and when you walk over you see that they are looking at YOUR bike.... its great to stand there till someone asks is this your bike? or I just love to walk up put the key in and then say ya this is MINE!!!!!!!

As you can see; they are white leds only, not amber and red. They act as additional running/marker  lights, they are not working  in conjunction with my turn signal/brake lights.

Big Bike Parts has the amber ones with clear lens....the red ones with clear lens are no longer available.  Sometimes they pop up on ebay.

I have the amber (front) and the red (rear) ones with clear lenses on my bike (or...I did...I changed the rear reds to red with red lenses).  .

Careful when using the red ones with the clear lenses on the rear as they will shine as white when a set of headlights shine on them (even when powered up).  I changed the rear reds on my bike back to just red leds (without the clear lens) on my bike because of this.  I still have the amber with clear lens on the radiator side pods though.

Bill, the bike looks great in its current incarnation, really added some nice touches to the "bling-mobile". Damn, you're making me miss it all over again! But the wife got a really sweet kitchen out of the deal, so it was worth the sale; plus, I really wasn't riding it at all, so I'm very happy that it went to someone who appreciates it and rides it.

As to the white LEDS that have become a topic, they only light up with a switch so they are not on all the time and are not tied into any of the regular running/turn lights. I checked Ohio law before I even mounted them, it said nothing about a motorcycle being required to have amber or red reflectors on the sides of a motorcycle. Your state laws may vary. I got them off of eBay.

As to my shop... yes that is my pride and joy! Thanks for the nice comments about it. It was over a year to get it built and exactly how I wanted it. Spend a lot of time out there and it makes for a fine working platform for the Valks. In fact, right now i ave two of them (mine and Yeah, Just Dale's) in various stages of serious winter maintenance. Makes for a fun and interesting winter, waiting for riding season to get here.

Here are the threads about my build if you haven't seen them and are interested. Very proud of the work I (and others) did on it.

This is pretty much what i figured. I didn't realize that even with them activated by amber and red led's, the clear lens still reflect as white. I really like the clear look on your former bike, but mine is red anyway so the red reflector can stay. Mind you, having them lit up is a great idea I think, so if I did go with the led's, Id get the red amber covers anyway.

By the way ...... great garage!!!  cooldude
